@davidjsmith1232 There’s a world where we look at the Dfox trade and realize the spurs needed his contract to get to the salary cap floor.
When viewed from this lens I lose all hope of competing for the next 5 or so years and have to go touch grass. 🤪
@CJRealHoops2 If Keyonte comes off the bench the Jazz are gonna win a title next year. The amount of growth Ace would have to see in order to force that type of move would put them over the top
@CjChaze There were tangible stretches last season where he looked like a top 25 all NBA guy. The sample sizes are so small though. Key was absolutely a clutch bucket getter and was just better than the defenses he faced in those moments.
Whether that translates to a winning team 🤷♂️?
This might be a spicy take, but Key operated with Dame levels of offensive dominance last year.
The JJJ trade happened in part because the FO office had their socks blown off my him and went out to build a defense capable of supporting that archetype of player IMO.
I’m still laughing at this. Like, what are we doing?
“No, I actually think the Sixers should bring Maxey off the bench so VJ can run the point full time.”
Darryn will be the best prospect we’ve ever drafted & Ace isn’t far behind.
Key is better than both by a wide margin rn.
We are all Knicks fans who love the idea of Wemby, but are forced to need the Spurs to lose in order to have any hope of winning against him/them for the next 5-7 years.
Since I know it’s coming, Jazz fans should look at this before suggesting they want any of these big contracts.
A max or near max contract is the last thing we need.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have a fascinating offseason ahead of them.
Expect several changes to mitigate their luxury tax bill and perhaps get under the second apron.
REPORT: Walker Kessler is expected to re-sign with the Jazz on a $25-$30M per year deal, per @TimBontemps.
“Given that neither Jackson nor fellow big man Lauri Markkanen is a full-time center, Kessler remains an important player in Utah's path back to contention in the Western Conference. The consensus is that Kessler is signing a new deal with the Jazz in the range of $25 million to $30 million a year.”
@CadeCottrell@AJ3Jazz That’s where I think we need to move Zay and Brice. Then sign a Cole Anthony for back up PG minutes on MLE money.
The gospel according to me:
Key/anthony(or another MLE guy)
AJ/ace/svi
Lauri/svi/cody
JJJ/flip
Kess/nurk/love
I like Zay but I’m pretty low long term, out on Brice
@CadeCottrell@AJ3Jazz I don’t think they move off that upward trend with a guy on a rookie contract to keep a vet min dude around.
Too much potential to be realized at a reasonably cheap investment.
My preference is move Brice and Zay. I like the Svi/williams combo better.
