@GarrettPetersen@mattyglesias Fortunately we managed to get a policy through Geico after trying several other companies who wouldn't even give us a quote. We're in a suburb, not even in a high fire zone.
@GarrettPetersen@mattyglesias AAA refused to renew our homeowners policy this year. They offered to renew us without fire coverage for nearly the same price if we also got fire coverage through California's "FAIR" plan.
@sdw Agreed. Side note, degrees are the worst thing to happen to climate control UX. What I know at any given time is I want it a little/lot cooler/hotter. Cars pre ‘90s had perfect controls for this. Now you have to do a relative calculation to figure out the degree value to set.
@StrictScrutiny_ Even in @kateashaw1’s devils advocate argument, “and” still means “and”—she should only be expected not to be paired with either @LeahLitman or @ProfMMurray if she said “or”. I think it’s pretty hard to come up with a convincing scenario where you can interpret “and” as “or”.
