🇺🇸Last month was the warmest February in 130 years of records for the Midwestern U.S., and it was the 125th driest of 130 with just 41% of normal precipitation.

No close comparisons, but closest are 2017 and 1987. All labeled years below correspond with El Nino, except 2017.

🌽CBOT Dec #corn hasn't moved much lately, but there has been a slight downtrend over the last month. Action doesn't look too different from 2013, one of the possible 2023 analogs identified earlier this year. The 2012 analog was disqualified by the end of June.

@FarmersOfTheUK Very similar situation in South Africa with Maize/Pork ratio. If Maize is R3,000/mt we need to get R30/kg, currently sitting at a daily closing price of R3,830/mt (White Maize, which is cheaper than Corn) VS R29.00/kg for pork.
