“It's okay for somebody who's a Marxist to bring what they've learned from Das Kapital into the room, but not to take what you believe from the Bible. That's nonsense, isn't it?”
@TimFarron tells #TimesRadio that being religious can be a bar to serving in high public office.
@DaltonAdger @thatlandinotho@ScottAniol Do you think the author of 2 Samuel intends to communicate that David is a type of the Messiah. Or that's something only the NT authors were able to discern after seeing so much of Jesus' life patterned after David?
@JustnBullington Israel's response to the gospel at that time. The note of warning to Gentiles is a secondary application (Rom 11:17ff) but the "whole argument" is confidence in the gospel (11:25ff) which is indeed the argument of the whole letter (1:16-17)
@JustnBullington With respect to the Doctor, I wonder if it's the opposite argument. Romans 8 promises no condemnation & no separation from God's love in Christ. God's dealings with Israel seem to suggest otherwise. Rom 9-11 explain how God's plans & promises in Christ are not in doubt, despite >
IMHO I think it's difficult to grasp how counter-(evangelical) culture this is...to stop your conference, to focus on the local church, to say your network isn't that important. Glorious!
@leefurney@AndrewGraystone Sadly AG has now deleted the OP (without explanation, retraction, or apology) so not sure where he now stands in relation to what he wrote about AP. I would certainly go much further than "uncomfortable" but thank you for your replies.
@leefurney@AndrewGraystone Even if such a distinction is granted, isn't it wrong that AP was (allegedly) not asked to give first-hand testimony - either in his capacity as victim or office holder? That is the uncomfortable silence I perceive in AG's letter & your endorsement(?) of it.
@leefurney@AndrewGraystone Maybe you have said so elsewhere and I have not seen it...but here it seems like you unequivocally support AG's actions in relation to AP?
@leefurney@AndrewGraystone I've followed much of you've written here & in other forums but I find this disturbing...are you not troubled by the allegation that AG never once contacted AP for comment? Do you make no allowance for AP's own account of the emotional scars that have impacted his actions?
