@CDSCO_INDIA_INF's move to ban FDCs lacking evidence of added clinical benefit aligns India's regulatory framework with best global practices that prioritize clinical evidence and patient safety, over commercial interests.

For decades, India was known as the "pharmacy of the world".A manufacturing powerhouse for affordable, generic medicines.
With Zaynich's US FDA approval, an Indian firm has demonstrated that the ability to discover, develop and globally commercialise a novel antibiotic that meets the standards of one of the world's toughest regulators.
At a time when antimicrobial resistance is emerging as one of humanity's biggest health threats, an Indian-developed antibiotic reaching the global stage is exactly the kind of breakthrough the country should seek to replicate across biotech, semiconductors, advanced materials and deep-tech sectors.

Grateful to @narendramodi and @PMOIndia for highlighting the importance of responsible antibiotics use.
Increasing levels of antibiotic resistance threaten the well being of Indian patients and India's goal of universal health coverage.

India’s exit from the HBHI group reflects sustained progress in reducing malaria and strengthens the nation’s march towards elimination.

I love this table presented by Dr. Nguyen at #IDWeek2025. This is the percent of time that free drug concentration remains above minimum inhibitory concentration. I will be favoring higher dosing for complex infections.
She fought for 8 years against sugar rich drinks falsely marketed as ORS!
Kudos to Dr. Sivaranjani Santosh, a braveheart paediatrician from Hyderabad.👏🫡
My doctor friend was kidnapped by an extremist outfit while serving as a medical officer in rural area. They blindfolded him and carried him to their hideout. There he was told to treat one of their activist who had intermittent high grade fever with chills. The area was endemic for malaria and he told them to give an artemessin based combination tablet. This cured the fever in a single day. He was then transported back blindfolded and was left back at the clinic. He bacame famous with locals and enjoyed the hospitality of villagers for rest of the tenure there.
Artemessin saved his life and made him a local hero.
I thank Tu Youyou for saving my friend🙏😆
