After only 10 hours, I have seen torture, oppression, death and other mature themes in Dragon Age The Veilguard. Whoever said the series lost its edge lied.
Someone asked me to post about their game the other day.
It was using AI-gen content, so I said no and wished them luck. They then yapped about how they wasted their past 20 years working on it only to get this treatment.
Yeah, imagine how artists must be feeling.
UPDATE: I just spoke to Sister Anne McCarthy who lives at the monastery and she confirmed "that's where I woke up this morning." She said she estimates approximately 60 sisters are currently living there, many taken care of there until they pass away. She is the coordinator of Benedictines for Peace (BFP) a non partisan peace and justice outreach. She invited the canvassers to dinner with the sisters, adding many in the community come join them for meals. "Then they can see us all!"
Why would 53 retired sisters living in the same house with one address be an issue? Do people not realize how religious communities live? We usually just have 1 mailing address for all then deliver internally to specific rooms.
@jim_mulroney@ahouse4all@fuckyouiquit He asked for 100k. Renegotiate my contract to a hundred thousand is what I heard, 200k is what the auto subtitles said.
The most tasteless, tactless, offensive depiction of dark subject matter in fiction may in fact be written by someone who went through it, precisely BECAUSE they went through it. I mean, going through something traumatic IS offensive: it's an offense against the victim's humanity
My controversial opinion is that when portraying dark topics in fiction, you BY DEFINITION cannot ever truly depict them tastefully, bc these topics are not tasteful. Suffering is not tasteful. You can definitely TRY, but bc art is subjective, not everyone will agree.
Also, people tend to forget that fiction is exactly that, fiction. It's not a therapy pamphlet, it's not a handbook, it's not a catechism. It can portray the most disgusting perspectives, because the morals are supposed to come from the reader. YOU must decide whether what...
Have been informed that the two Russian streaming services offering The Wire in that country have systematically removed scenes and dialogue indicating that Omar Little is homosexual.
Be advised, you backward fucks, that Omar Little of Baltimore, Maryland is unapologetically gay, and, though fictional, infinitely more badass and tactically effective than all of the conscripts and paroled thugs you've sent into the meat-grinder in Ukraine. Not that they'd do much better invading West Baltimore.
But thanks for watching, I guess.
