@mattyglesias@brianbeutler I think that's a fine take about Hegseth, but I gotta say your comments about Hunter Biden came off as the whiniest I've ever heard from you, and I think you realized that by the end. Nobody outside the DC pundit complex can even identify the hairs you were splitting there.
@JoshuaW03319152@hecubian_devil Building more housing in dense cities is one of the absolute best things we can be doing for the environment, it's a thousand times better than having people move to car-centric suburbs
@N0tAnthonyDavis @LittleMammith And Democrats' attempts at motivating non-voters never really worked. Trump was the one who got them to come out and vote for him.
@orcphilosopher @TheNCSmaster Octopath Traveler 2 did this, one of your party members is a church inquisitor who uncovers a secret evil plot that goes high up in the church but is still only a small part of it.
@MideOFD @gelliottmorris This election, more than any other, should really lead people to question the idea that empathy has anything to do with electoral success. Trump didn't win by expressing empathy for his voters, he won by convincing them that his enemies were other people and he would crush them.
@gelliottmorris Why did you retweet Heather's post when you're talking about "snarky elitism?" She basically just said Trump's tariffs are happening, which is true. There's nothing mean spirited about that!
@colten398 If Trump stays popular because he's successful in blaming his enemies for the problems he causes, then Dems will stay bitter but it won't really matter because that will mean that politics are completely separated from policies anyway.
@colten398 Depends on how the electorate responds to Trump's policies. If they respond to increased prices from tariffs by blaming Trump, then Dems will take advantage of that and fight back.
@JosephPolitano Look, millennials are just so happy that the "millennials and their avocado toast are killing capitalism" articles stopped that they can't resist taking the bait to shit on zoomers instead
@MattGrossmann Bernie has never faced a full national campaign where Republicans are calling him a communist 24/7. Those attacks would hit, because he actually is more left wing than any other Democratic candidate has been. He would not have beaten Trump at any time.
@saikatc 10% cap on credit cards is only popular because people think it means their 25% credit card rate will drop to 10%. When it gets implemented and they find out it actually means they can't get a card at all because their credit is bad, it will become very unpopular very quickly.
