If you want to know why some people scrimp, save and go without in order to put their children into private school, feel free to watch the nauseating @bphillipsonMP exclaiming with glee the latest sats results (with lowered pass mark) which actually show more than 1/3 of our KS2 pupils fail to meet the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics.

Meanwhile the stats from a local inependent primary are 95% GPS, 100% Maths, 100% reading.
Over 40% at greater depth in reading and almost 50% in maths.
All at a school with over 25% SEND population.

Far from deriding independent schools and mockingly wearing her "spiteful class warrior" T-Shirt. She might consider getting off her arse, visiting some of these schools and seeing how we can replicate their performance in the state sector.

Celebrating 1/3 of our children falling short in primary education is pathetic.
