@APKoz47@BrandynsWisdom@grok Way to cherry pick bro. He meant overall as a congressman.
@grok - who was the congressman least likely to vote with Biden during his presidency?
@ChrisLoesch@grok@SStricklandMMA@SKIPdaZIP No one said anything about rights. Putting the interests of another nation above those of the US is problematic. But go ahead, defend foreign aid, reckless wars, and funding a genocide.
@ChrisLoesch@grok@SStricklandMMA@SKIPdaZIP Hey @grok, having Israeli influence isn’t just about AIPAC though. How did AIPAC related groups contribute to Massie’s opponent’s campaign? What about Miriam Adelson, Paul singer, and John Paulson? Are any of them supporters of Israel or Jewish?
@RogerSeheult@MidwesternDoc@RWMaloneMD So instead of vaccinating the high risk populations, we vaccinated everyone without understanding the negative consequences?
Here’s a little story about what we’ve been going through here in Sacramento. Thanks to leaders like Gavin, the crime has gotten completely out of control.
It’s to the point where running a business in certain areas is near impossible.
Most recently, a homeless guy and his friends have been using the roof access ladder, which has a locked guard on it to deter use, to get on the roof and live up there.
The first thing I see from our rooftop residents is the numerous piles of shit all over the place. If you aren’t familiar with homeless shits, imagine what a steady diet of AMPM desserts, snacks, and soda produces at the back end. It’s a site to see.
They also vandalized the venting systems, broke into HVAC closets, broke windows, and used the roof as a storage unit for all their stolen items.
And you would be shocked at how much these guys steal. They constantly bring building signs, bags full of other people’s stuff, and new bikes to the property. We fill up the big trash every single week with stuff that used to be someone else’s, or possibly even yours.
Cars are broken into all the time in the parking lot, and a few years ago they even lit part of the building on fire.
We’ve called the sheriff about 30 times. Recently, we’ve had one guy trespassed multiple times, but he’s out and back at the property in less than 12 hours every time.
Most of the calls the cops can’t do anything. They say their hands are completely tied and that there’s not much they can do. Even if they bring a guy in for breaking the law, he’s let out with a slap on the wrist.
In this video Gavin says 9,000 arrests. But, those arrests mean nothing if those people are back on the street raising hell later that day.
Now there’s an encampment in the empty lot down the street. I posted up for an hour the other day and got to see them make drug deals, throw trash all over the place at multiple buildings, harass people, and basically ensure that the area continues to become even more of a dumpster fire.
I always hear people talk about why everything is so expensive now. People rarely mention all the downstream effects all this crap brings about. All the repairs, clean up, higher insurance premiums, higher rents, and man hours that go into dealing with this problem means everything gets more expensive.
I’ll wrap this up with a request: never forget that this guy cleaned up San Francisco in a snap for a foreign leader.
Never forget that your tax dollars fund the insane amount of fallout that comes from letting unhinged criminals and people dealing with drug addictions do whatever the hell they want.
Never forget who is responsible for turning so many neighborhoods into dangerous, crime ridden hellholes.
@honestpollster@elonmusk Step 1: don’t backstab Elon
Step 2: follow through on promises
Step 3: no America party formation

Why Compare Nicotine to Arsenic in Arguments?
Such comparisons often arise in debates about smoking or nicotine’s safety, typically as a rhetorical tactic to exaggerate dangers and discourage use, even if the equivalence is flawed.
Here’s why someone might employ it:
• False Equivalence for Persuasion: By likening nicotine to arsenic—a notorious poison used in rat killers and linked to severe toxicity—arguers aim to evoke fear and moral outrage. For instance, anti-smoking campaigns highlight that cigarettes contain arsenic (among 7,000 chemicals), implying smoking is akin to “ingesting rat poison,” which indirectly taints nicotine by association. This guilt-by-association tactic simplifies complex science: while arsenic in smoke contributes to cancer, nicotine itself isn’t the carcinogen, but the comparison makes nicotine seem equivalently deadly to “win” by emotional appeal rather than nuance.

• Exaggerating Toxicity: Some claim nicotine is “more dangerous than arsenic” based on outdated LD50 estimates, positioning it as a “poison” to counter claims of benefits (e.g., cognitive enhancement). This ignores nicotine’s therapeutic uses and arsenic’s lack of addiction or stimulant effects, but it sways audiences in heated debates by invoking hyperbole.
• Dismissing Benefits via Historical Parallel: Both have been used medicinally—arsenic for syphilis/psoriasis (now avoided due to risks), nicotine for cessation/cognition. Opponents might say, “Arsenic was once ‘beneficial’ too, but it’s poison,” to undermine nicotine’s responsible use (e.g., gum) by suggesting any “benefit” is outweighed by risks, akin to promoting a toxin.
• In Debates on Harm Reduction: Pro-nicotine voices (e.g., vaping advocates) clarify nicotine isn’t the killer—it’s tar/arsenic in cigarettes—while critics blur lines to argue all nicotine products are “poisonous.” Recent X posts echo this: one notes vaping’s lower harm vs. cigarettes due to absent arsenic, while another debates health comparisons.
This tactic “wins” by oversimplifying—equating an addictive stimulant with potential upsides to a pure carcinogen—prioritizing stigma over evidence, common in public health or policy arguments where nuance loses to soundbites.
For anyone looking for a complete picture on nicotine, it can actually have positive effects as well.
Below is some of the good, as written by Grok 4
One thing I’ve learned over the years is that nicotine, much like caffeine use, are not one size fits all.
Individual genetic makeup, in addition to many other factors, will impact your experience.

COGNITIVE ENHANCEMENT
Nicotine can act as a stimulant for brain function, potentially improving focus and mental performance in healthy adults or those with certain conditions.
• Improved Attention and Alertness: It enhances alerting and orienting attention, making it easier to concentrate on tasks. This is mediated by nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) in the brain, which boost neurotransmitter activity like dopamine and acetylcholine. Studies show benefits in non-smokers and minimally deprived smokers, with effects on visuospatial attention and top-down control.
• Better Memory and Learning: Nicotine supports working memory (short-term recall) and episodic memory (long-term events). For example, it can improve performance on memory tasks via mechanisms like enhancing long-term potentiation (LTP) in the hippocampus. In animal models and human trials, low doses have shown activating effects on cognition.

• Fine Motor Skills and Processing Speed: It may boost hand-eye coordination and reaction times, useful for tasks requiring precision.
These effects are why some people use nicotine products for productivity or in high-focus professions, though they’re more pronounced in those with baseline deficits (e.g., ADHD).
NEUROPROTECTIVE & DISEASE-SPECIFIC BENEFITS
Nicotine shows promise in protecting brain health and managing certain neurological conditions.
• Potential Protection Against Parkinson’s Disease: It may reduce the risk of developing Parkinson’s by inhibiting enzymes like SIRT6, which promotes neuron survival and reduces apoptosis (cell death). In studies, it improves dyskinesia (involuntary movements) and memory impairment in Parkinson’s models.

• Support for Alzheimer’s Disease: Nicotine can alleviate cognitive decline by activating pathways like PI3K/Akt for neuronal survival and desensitizing α7 nAChRs to restore LTP, a key process for memory. Human studies show shifts in brain activity toward normal levels in Alzheimer’s patients.
• General Neuroprotection: It may shield against neuronal degeneration, enhancing cognitive performance in aging or disease states.
ANTI-INFLAMMATORY EFFECTS
Nicotine can modulate the immune system, potentially benefiting inflammatory conditions.
• Reduction in Inflammation: Through the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway, it lowers pro-inflammatory cytokines (e.g., TNF-α, IL-6) and promotes protective autophagy. This is seen in conditions like ulcerative colitis (improving gut symptoms), arthritis (reducing joint swelling), sepsis (enhancing survival), and obesity-related inflammation (improving insulin sensitivity).
• Other Inflammatory Benefits: May help with multiple sclerosis, myocarditis, pancreatitis, allergies, and even tissue repair in low doses.

MOOD & METABOLIC BENEFITS
• Mood Improvement and Creativity: By enhancing attention and dopamine release, it can elevate mood, reduce stress responses, and boost creativity or wakefulness.
• Weight Management: Suppresses appetite and may aid weight loss or improve insulin sensitivity, though this isn’t a primary recommendation.
@mtracey Always give up when things don’t go your way.
Only trust people who are right 100% of the time.

In addition to that, Topuria’s performance and post fight interview stole the spotlight from Pantoja.
There’d be a much bigger conversation around
Pantoja if he would’ve been on a different card.
Does feel like UFC likes to focus on only a few stars at a time. Topuria is in that group. Jones was. Pereira was.
Methylated B vitamins, TMG, and higher doses of magnesium (malate in AM & glycinate/threonate PM) fully cured my anxiety.
I’m a much, much calmer person now.
Before that I had tried vipassana mediation, kava, at least 20 supplements, and everything else under the sun.
I recommend identifying your mutations to understand what you need and why in addition to what should be avoided.
Enzymes are also highly underrated for when your stomach is upset or you’ve eaten like a trash can.
Dihydromyrecetin is effective at reducing hangover symptoms.
@hubermanlab This answer would work if almost every restaurant didn’t use seed oils.
Regardless of the complexity and what side of the debate you’re on, this should be sorted out.
