Nurses are highly skilled in their own field
But they have NOT studied medicine & should NOT be supervising senior doctors, let alone claiming equivalence to consultants?!

Since the ceasefire deal in #Gaza, @WHO has been scaling up the health response.
This week we delivered:
- 70,000 litres of fuel, enough to sustain the 20 partially functional health facilities and hospitals, and ambulances in Gaza City;
- Essential medical supplies from our stocks within Gaza to 6 hospitals and medical points, and to 21 emergency medical teams across the north and south. These supplies will support 50,000 patients, with maternal care needs, treatment for trauma, malnutrition, noncommunicable diseases, and improve infection prevention at health facilities.
A plane donated by the #UAE is en route from our Humanitarian Hub in Dubai to a holding point in Al-Arish, Egypt, carrying essential medicines to support 95,000 people for three months. Two more plane deliveries are scheduled in the coming days to ensure a steady supply of medications, including treatments for respiratory and infectious diseases, cardiovascular conditions, insulin, and other essential medicines.
Conditions in Gaza remain challenging, and operations are complex, but our teams remain steadfast in delivering aid for immediate lifesaving needs, and also for early recovery of the health system.
