More than 700 earthquakes have been recorded in a week so far. The island itself is almost completely evacuated, due to fears of a powerful earthquake.

Videos posted on social media by residents of coastal regions of Turkey show falling water levels in Izmir and Ayvalik

Locals fear that this is due to ongoing seismic activity in the region and anxiety.
