This is gonna be interesting:
Portal will be open and WBB will be in shutdown. Coaches have vacations planned. Most schools start class by the end of August. Need to get players committed, signed, admitted, and enrolled.
I've compiled a rough list of about 450-470 players who have only played 4 years and would be eligible if the NCAA appeal does not go through...
The big question - would the NCAA grant eligibility to those who are in the W, but not appeared in a game?
Some big time names!
It's July. Your kid is on their 4th tournament of the summer.
3 games today. 2 tomorrow.
Their shoulder is sore. Their knee hurts. They're exhausted.
Coach says they're developing... Are they?

When will we change this? Run 4 Roses is the biggest scam along with many AAU basketball events!
Travel sports are absolutely not about the kids like it used to be and should be. It’s purely about money
My rant ⬇️ with actual numbers
As teams start to release Non-Con schedules, keep in mind that most NC games are scheduled before or during the season when coaches don’t know who they will lose to or add from the portal. And some schools play cupcakes no matter what.

Is it worse for an AD to fire a head coach more than a month after the season ended, or for an HC to fire an AC more than a month after the season ended? And using that AC to help sign portal kids.
A few years ago a WBB HC was fired b/c an unhappy player complained to the AD. She didn’t like the coach saying “fake it til you make it”. Completely b.s. complaint when it’s so common in sports but the AD still took the player’s side.

They didn’t use lose anyone to the portal because AJ didn’t tell anyone that they needed to transfer like he has in the past. It’s not always the player’s decision.
The NCAA is considering a new 5-in-5 eligibility model. I asked coaches how they feel about it. They’ve got ideas and everyone wants the one-time transfer rule to return. (Free link) https://t.co/A62gcARtma
In rev share/NIL era, coaches need to be on point with international evals. Lots of players look good in 3 min highlights vs JV level overseas, then get to college and collect $100k+ to sit the bench

So Jim Crowley went back to St. Bonaventure (a few years ago), Candi Whitaker back to UMKC, and now Erik Johnson back to Denver. The Circle of Coaching Life.
This seems like an incredibly lazy hire. Put some work into the search because there are lots of qualified coaches with actual experience coaching WOMEN’S basketball.
Baronton Terry has been named the new Long Island University WBB head coach; he was most recently an assistant coach in LIU's MBB program https://t.co/5sNpAkL3v4
