The Spurs are hoping to make their first NBA Finals in years but may soon have a big decision to make regarding star De'Aaron Fox. #(โ๐พ@crdurrett) #PorVida#GoSpursGo

Big takeaways from Game 1 for the Spurs:
-This was the first game against OKC that Wemby has played big minutes this season.
OKC simply couldn't score with him playing 48 minutes.
-Dylan Harper was terrific on both ends despite some boneheaded mistakes. He must start over Fox
Big takeaways from Game 1 for the Spurs:
-Carter Bryant more than held his own on defense. Him spending a lot of time guarding SGA kept Castle out of foul trouble.
-Luke Kornet has been shaky in the playoffs. He was better in the second half but I would play Wemby big minutes.
You never want a player to miss a game due to injury.
Still, I am curious to see how much better the Spurs are with Dylan Harper compared to starting De'Aaron Fox.
I have a feeling San Antonio would be much better. #porvida#gospursgo
I think Gregg Popovich gets unfairly criticized for load management.
He played Tim Duncan huge minutes early in his career. TD got plantar fasciitis and Pop played him less and rested him during B2Bs.
Pop also did so late in TD's career and it extended his career. #porvida
I think of Popovich and load-management the way I think of Hinkie and tanking. Neither was the first to engage in the act itself, and if they hadn't done what they did, someone else would have, but the moment they did it so brazenly, it cascaded into the crises we now have.
The Spurs are already contenders thanks to Victor Wembanyama, but the NBA's latest move may give them an edge, according to @HoopTakesNBA. #PorVida#GoSpursGo

The Cavs have largely flown under the radar this season but could soon be much better if the latest NBA rumors are true. (โ๐พ@crdurrett) #LetEmKnow

@AirlessJordan Pretty crazy that Dejounte Murray had so many triple doubles in basically a two season stretch at the end of his Spurs run.
The Spurs then traded him, bottomed out, and ended up with Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle. Incredible.

The Spurs might actually catch the Thunder for the number one seed in the Western Conference.
That would give them a much better chance at the NBA Finals.
#GoSpursGo#PorVida
Spurs are 2.5 games behind the Thunder for the 1st seed
Thunder are 18-13 since Dec 13th, and have the 2nd toughest schedule remaining
Spurs are 21-9 since Dec 13th, and have the 12th toughest schedule remaining
I've been saying this for a while now but the Spurs must start Julian Champagnie over Harrison Barnes.
It's almost too easy of a decison to make
#porvida#GoSpursGo
The Spurs might have missed the boat on Maxine Raynaud ngl.
I was really surprised they didn't take Wembanyama's friend when they had the chance in the draft.

Looking back at it, the Spurs losing the NBA Cup Finals may be their heartbreaking loss before they start winning championships.
Every great team has them, the Spurs may have just gotten it out of the way before the playoffs.

Mitch Johnson has done a lot of things right this season, but he tends to be too passive challenging calls for the Spurs.
He was still 2-2 on challenges against the Knicks, but he pretty much had to challenge by that point.
On the plus side, Luke Kornet played great. Dylan Harper elevated his game, flashing superstar potential, and Castle mostly played really well.
Just sucks they had to lose a game they played really well in through three quarters.

Some hard lessons the Spurs have to learn from losing to the Knicks in the NBA Cup Finals. Mainly, actually learning how to grab a rebound.
Horrendous on the glass, and it cost them a game they should have won.
