H.E. President @KagutaMuseveni met the innovators behind National Agricultural Research Organisation’s anti-tick vaccine this afternoon at @narouganda Vaccine City during the launch of Noravac.
This marks a historic milestone the first anti-tick vaccine fully developed and produced in Uganda.
Special thanks to the scientists and colleagues in the Ministry of Agriculture for this remarkable achievement. We also thank H.E. President @KagutaMuseveni for his visionary leadership and for funding this research and innovation to a tune of over UGX 180 billion. The new vaccine is expected to save Uganda over UGX 1 trillion annually that has been spent on importing anti-tick drugs. God bless Uganda .

On 17th April 2026, we hosted an exciting, challenging, and truly remarkable Robotics for Good youth challenge Uganda National Championship at Makerere University, bringing together some of the brightest young innovators from across the country.

From robotics showdowns to AI-powered innovations addressing food security, the level of creativity, resilience, and problem-solving demonstrated by students was nothing short of inspiring. These young minds are not waiting for the future, they are actively building it. The journey was not without challenges -technical hurdles, evolving game fields, and intense competition, but this is exactly what innovation looks like: testing, learning, adapting, and improving.

A huge appreciation to the innovative students, mentors, judges, partners, sponsors, university leadership, government of Uganda for making this national championship a success. Your commitment is shaping a generation equipped with the skills and mindset to solve real-world problems.

A team of Young Engneers Uganda, a #STEM Education-Initiative Program of the African School of Innovations, Science and Technology (@ASIST_Uganda), (ASIST-UG), has stepped forward with determination to participate in the Robotics for Good Youth Challenge CTF 2 at @Makerere University.
The team, driven by passion for innovation and problem-solving, brings together bright learners from different schools across Uganda, including:
Daffodils Primary School-Kololo, Viva College-Jinja, Light, Academy-Entebbe road, Elyon Primary School-Mutungo, British School of Kampala, Nabisunsa Girls Sec School-Banda and Abeka Academy.
The young innovators are united under @YoungEngneersUG program, where they are nurtured to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through practical innovation.

In today's challenge, the students are expected to showcase creative robotic solutions aimed at addressing real-world problems, aligning with the global #AI4Good movement. Their participation highlights Uganda's growing potential in the next generation of technology leaders.

As the competition unfolds in Yusuf Lule CTF Auditorium- Makerere, all eyes will be on these young engineers, not just for what they build, but for the future they represent in the Pearl of Africa.
