It won't stop there, unless checks are in place. Heck, every Tesla car can basically be a geo-fenced spybot with just an OTA update. Imagine if your car will not let you drive across state lines because of an unpaid parking ticket, or because you posted a criticism on Facebook or X.
Basically, Tesla cars are primed for this type of '1984' type foundation since they have OTA update capability, cameras, etc.
Have fun...
"In a 1984-style scenario, government-mandated geo-fencing via OTA updates could remotely restrict or disable vehicles based on AI camera data, location tracking, or external flagsโlimiting travel to approved zones, times, or users deemed "compliant." Existing Tesla hardware (cameras, GPS, connectivity) makes enforcement software-only, without new parts. No such mandates exist today."
