Brainstorming and sharing ideas is the funnest part of the creative process. We decided to skip the boring part of actually making stuff & just do the fun part
Idea: Last Chance Tourism: A show which highlights tourist places/events that are (or are at risk of) disappearing, explains why and how much time is left to go there
Also: highlighting at-risk tourist sites could cause people to save them and make the last-chance video obsolete
Idea: VR/AR swim goggles to wear while exercising to make it look like you're being chased by a shark/zombie/clown to scare you so you run/swim faster
Also: unlike a VR headset, they won't break if you fall; if you wore them in the ocean, you might think a real shark is fake
Mini invention idea: a portable battery-powered air conditioner that fits in the child seat of a shopping cart so you can grocery shop without sweating
Idea: To see how many clowns fit in a school bus
Also: lots of dark humor about clowns; environmentally-friendly clown mass transit where you replace your carbon footprint with a giant clown shoe footprint; that time a group of clowns came to a local standup comedy open mic
Idea: A horn for bicycles which is louder and less rude than a normal bike horn
Also: maybe both a quiet "excuse me" horn and a loud "oh crap" horn; the impossibility of being intensely drunk while riding a bicycle/motorcycle, a horn that sounds drunk when the bicyclist is drunk
Idea: A cell phone used exactly like a cordless/rotary phone for boomers who don't understand smartphones and who live in nursing homes without land lines
Also: it'd be better than kludging Magic Jack with WiFi or a smartphone paired with a Bluetooth cordless phone
An episode where the idea was a short story about a woman with a unibrow, but we mostly forgot to talk about the story and riffed about unibrows the whole time
The unibrow character could be the unwanted person who holds people together (like the hair connecting their eyebrows)
Idea: Local surveillance networks where ppl in a neighborhood share access to their outdoor cameras w/each other & use fancy software to detect gunshots, follow loved ones camera-to-camera to ensure their safety etc
It's meant to be the opposite of "big brother" mass surveillance
Brainstorming ideas to slow lawn growth like pouring coffee on it, weedwackers that come out of the ground, shocking it w/freezing cold water, etc
Also: using humanoid robots to do Flintstones-like manual labor like using "washing boards" to wash clothes
Idea: An app in which you electronically connect w/strangers at a social venue (like a bar) so you can more easily physically approach them to chat, make friends, flirt, etc; features to pay a stranger to talk to you (instead of buying them a beer) or to join a sports/gaming team
Idea: A text editor that enables exact language translation by restricting you to words in small translation databases (basic words, words related to a particular business etc)
But if you try to use a word thats not in the translation DBs you must figure out another way to say it
Idea: To fly swarms of tiny AI drones w/bright lights on them into tornadoes so people can easily see the tornadoes for safety reasons
Also: form a line to show the projected path; if lit tornadoes are pretty people will go outside to see them (like bugs attracted to a bug light)
Idea: Alliance of Lazy Substitute Teachers: For subs to unite to force schools to let them show videos or do easy teaching instead of complex lesson plans
Also: a designation that is "the opposite of a doctorate" ex: "Melissa Brandt, ZZZ"; getting lost taking students to the gym
A prank that Heather is planning for this year's April Fools Day, which is to trick her husband into thinking she got a nose ring
Also: the risk of her husband liking it and wanting her to keep it; piercings and their issues, including infection, smelling bad, etc.
Idea: A social media app or filter which blocks or limits the negative news/posts you can view for the sake of your mental health
Also: sad info hidden behind puppies, you "click to expand" to see it; templates to help post good news (ex: reminder to take "before" pic for a diet)
Idea: A cartoon series in a pawn shop where the items talk to each other, tell stories of their past, and speculate about their future
Also: shows diverse cultures and art styles based on origins of the item; stories such as separating paired items, fake gold jewelry telling lies
Idea: To recreate a Noah's Ark 40-day voyage on a livestream & TV show
Also: using a modified cruise ship, a biodome, or a spaceship; using horses to do work (pull poop carts); skipping similar species if kids can't distinguish between them; trying yearly & iteratively improving
Idea: A small table to be used while sitting on the toilet which is stored on the toilet (replacing the toilet seat lid or toilet tank lid, or stored behind the tank) when not in use
Also: giving it a European-sounding name (like "Skorza") and pretending its common in Europe
Idea: To build giant hollow mountain-sized pyramids in large cities and grow food on flat terraces on the outside of the pyramids. Also: they could cause rain, shade cities, and/or block tornadoes from cities (or cause a deadly veggie tornado)
Ideas (both silly and serious) for foods which have additional practical uses during an apocalypse, such as inflatable bagels as flotation devices, sharp-edged foods as weapons, pop tarts as sticky notes, fruit roll-ups as clothing, etc.
Idea: To convince people (for the sake of the economy) to have their prized possessions put in their coffins with them when they die so they have them in the afterlife (like ancient Egyptians)
Also: avoiding embarrassing items because people can see them at your funeral
