Wow this @nyknicks v @celtics series is wild. It really is all down to shooting %
Knicks shooting like Celtics did in second half of game 1 and 2. Horrendous to watch.

Mikal Bridges’ fadeaway isn’t a fade—it’s a teleport. One second he’s in your face, the next he’s 8 feet back draining a jumper.

Congrats to both! Not just good cricketers, but also great team men and quality humans. Sometimes good things happen to good people 🙌🏻

[Peter Della Penna @PeterDellaPenna]

Congrats to USA players Aaron Jones and Saurabh Netravalkar, who have won the ESPNcricinfo Associate Batting and Bowling Performance of the Year respectively. Jones won it for his 94 v Canada to start the 2024 T20 WC and Netravalkar took the honors for his 2 for 18 v Pakistan.

We need more people saying this!
Thank you @TheJacobTurner 👏🏻

Youth sports are out of control.

I was the 9th overall pick in the MLB Draft.

I played professionally for more than 10 years.

Here is how I am navigating youth sports as a parent to four kids:

Yes, we have a penchant for labelling things and then being pedantic about the definition of said names.

“Is that fly-slip, deep gully or short third?”

And let’s not start on the names of batting shots!!!

Cricket is a simple sport.

@Jomboy_ Ice cold powerade?

They think the ‘45’ is yards from the batter.

Is this being taught wrong? Or am I wrong?

[jamie.lloyd.cricket @cricket_jamie]

In cricket if your captain or bowler says to stand ‘on the 45’ it is usually referring to a run saving position at short fine-leg, perhaps 5 yards inside the inner ring, when a spinner is bowling. The ‘45’ refers to the angle i.e. the half-way point between keeper & square(leg).

[jamie.lloyd.cricket @cricket_jamie]

It may refer to a similar position on the offside i.e. short third man,

It DOES NOT mean standing 45 yards from the batter.

I have now coached in 3 academies in north america where kids are being taught, or somehow think ‘on the 45’ means two-thirds of the way to the boundary?

[jamie.lloyd.cricket @cricket_jamie]

1. Fix the culture
2. Get Justin Fields as a bridge QB with upside potential to be more than that.
3. Trade 2025 1st round pick for multiple firsts in 2026 and beyond.
4. Continue to invest in upgrading the O-line and defense in 2025 draft.
5. Draft franchise QB in 2026 (Arch?)

[jamie.lloyd.cricket @cricket_jamie]

11 games into the season @nyknicks are 8 games out of first, yet sit 4th in the east 🤪

[jamie.lloyd.cricket @cricket_jamie]

What’s a bigger disappointment …
1. @BrooklynNets 2021-2022 with KD, Kyrie, Harden, Simmons etc.
2. @nyjets 2024 with Rodgers, Adams, Hall, Wilson, Sauce etc.
3. @Mets 2023 with Scherzer, Verlander etc.

[jamie.lloyd.cricket @cricket_jamie]

I’m no football expert so I have to ask… what am I missing here?
On their previous drive their RB ran 56 yards for a TD, and down by 1 score with a full quarter to go they follow it with this?!?!

@BdJcricket 😂😂😂
Effectively the equivalent of ranking Rugby World Cup qualifiers on their sevens ranking.

[jamie.lloyd.cricket @cricket_jamie]

Wow! @Mets and then @AtlantaFalcons !!!

Great night for sports fans.
