@mohseenlala@readstarwars Have you considered that he’s a teenager, and susceptible to depression over things adults would find trivial? And that his fragile mental health is another sign that the Jedi way of that era is flawed.
@nursekelsey I started sorting after losing too many nice things to filthy work jeans. And since we can’t fit a week of clothes in one load (big and tall tax), I might as well sort the loads for optimal results: jeans, colors, lights, towels, bedding, kitchen towels, kids.
@kjgillenwater @EmIpsaLoquitur @stangleskid It’s not the thickness of the pads, it’s that they’re too small. Most sports bras will fit a DD-F, but the standard pads shaped for a B-C cup they use in them will not.
@glitteratiglue @EmIpsaLoquitur @stangleskid Probably the people that wear real bras when out in public, saving the unsubstantial, unlined ones for the comfort of their own home and maybe the school pickup line.
@kjgillenwater @EmIpsaLoquitur @stangleskid Some of us take them out because they’re the wrong size for our boobs, not just because the shifting is annoying. And sewing the pads in means the bra won’t fit.
@HillGirlTN@Old_SchoolEddie@CollinRugg The ship was being piloted by two Baltimore harbor pilots, local folks who know the waters and procedures, not the ship crew. It’s why officials knew to clear the bridge and that it wasn’t likely to be foul play.
@bandherbooks Bowling in Michigan. Not the angels, but the giant from Jack and the Beanstalk. When the thunder and lightning were in sync, he was bowling strikes.
@bigoledumb I hope it was well loved before it was donated, but even if it wasn’t, it served its purpose and showed someone how much you care. I can’t help but feel that your gift finding a second useful life is far better than being hidden in a closet out of guilt or dumped in the trash.
@EvilPlantLady@bigoledumb I’m a knitter and quilter. I appreciate the hell out of handmade gifts. But I couldn’t keep all 10+ handmade baby blankets after my kids outgrew them. We kept a couple and donated the rest so they can be actively loved. Likewise, I hope the gifts I make are used then passed on.
@Sisterray63 @Chrissssssw@SandyFrizzle One of my kids’ teachers is trying something similar this year, because the “leave it in your backpack” policy isn’t working. Phones go in a zip pouch stuck to the side of the desk. If they have to evacuate, they grab the pouch and go instead of digging through their bags.
@illiam_william Some of that is marketing, some of that is because fat young women are often perceived as more mature than their thin counterparts. Just look at their fashion history: one was styled as a matron for a decade, while the other was styled as a maiden.
@amymarr I’m convinced that most of what politicians post or say these days is just engagement farming. That any publicity is good publicity thing is working, especially for the far right who wants to look like they’re dominating the conversation.
@Remi814@DiaryofaSickGrl You said it was a burst cyst in another comment. Those leave holes. The treatment for a closed cyst is usually to open it, drain it, pack it with sterile gauze, and give antibiotics. There’s a gaping hole in your body until it heals. Your body just did the first steps on its own.
@Remi814@DiaryofaSickGrl Unless the infection has spread enough to put you on death’s doorstep, you’re better off going to urgent care for cysts. They can clean it up, treat it with antibiotics, prescribe longer courses of meds, and refer you to specialists if you need other interventions.
