This just shook me to the core. As I type these words, I am in another city, admitting the teen to a university, ensuring that the essentials that would be needed for the next four years are all in place. To the best possible extent.
I shall be leaving for home shortly. I am already dreading that journey. I know the teen may not pick up the phone when called. Sometimes may not even call back later.
When I look at the teen, radiant, excited, looking forward to a whole new life, I feel both proud and a little blank.
