@searls I found that the boundaries between my personal life and work were too blurred, causing me to neglect all the other important responsibilities I had. The office is my "container" for work, and though I can and still do remote occasionally, I'm feel more balanced now.
@rappen@ddlabar@PowerApps Code is /so/ 4 years ago. My app is a pile of Lincoln Logs. You can make anything you want out of them. Some of those things may be usable. Fewer will do most of what you need it to; but think of all the cost-savings in electricity. The TCO is a no-brainer.
@ScottDurow Deck chairs on the Titanic. CE is already behind the curve, technologically, because it's married to this notion that a user-interface is best provided through Firefox, or Edge, or Chrome. Clearly, those things do not have CE's interests at heart.
@shanselman To be fair, sometimes that's how the UX is tailored. As Alan Kay opined in 1997, the notion that a browser is presupposed to know every protocol and representation is ludicrous. "Cross-browser" support is akin to burning one's self on every stove, to know they're equally hot.
We close the show very soon. Tune in now to NBC (EAST COAST) to see The Valleyfolk’s final sketch on @bringthefunny! IT IS THE STUPIDEST YET! (https://t.co/klBBTDda7a) #funnyvotevalleyfolk
@AndrewBibby Oh, come off it. You're as Brit as bangers and mash, and you're lovely for it. You'd get my vote, unfortunately we Yanks need an Electoral College to decide our politics for us, so I'm afraid it wouldn't count anyway. ;)
@shanselman With the sweet, disc-pad directional control, and the 10-key input pad that was so anti-ergonomical my wrists still pop funny? Yeah, count me in for some B-52 Bomber and that raspy, voice-accelerator!
@ddlabar Yup. In the latter, the order of operations assures that the assignment inside the "lock" call is performed before the actual function of locking--as with the former. Ergo, the comparison between them is more about code style dogma.
Reminded that the Microsoft ebook store closes next week. The DRM'd books will stop working.
I cannot believe that sentence.
"The books will stop working."
I keep saying it and it sounds worse each time.

I'm a tech dad that has been (letting his wife) performing all password entry for my kids, since their first device. My daughter is 13, and I think ready to start wielding the burden of password complexity requirements and management. Yay?
