$IONQ just hired IBM’s public sector quantum security lead.
Charles Robinson spent seven years as Public Sector Leader for IBM Quantum Computing and worldwide head of the Quantum Safe Team. Before that he ran IBM Federal’s DOD Intelligence business as Client Executive.
IonQ created the role. Q-Day is moving left, military networking contracts already exceed $100 million, and the company just launched commercial QKD on municipal fiber.

Consider a binary vector space of size 2^n. Pick at random two subsets of nonzero vectors, each of size 2^(n/2)-1. What is the probability that they are disjoint?
Now pick two subspaces of dimension n/2 and discard the zero vector. What is the probability that they are disjoint?
Starting now, the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space, and Technology is having a full committee markup of the National Quantum Initiative Reauthorization Act. Livestream at https://t.co/oFL9BjuM9z.
We’ve just announced our Quantum Safe technology (https://t.co/RgkCMgpXk4) and roadmap at IBM Think 2023. Understanding and updating where enterprises use security is a daunting task and only through technology can we make this possible.
Last week we release for the first time a photo of our IBM Quantum data center in Poughkeepsie NY. I really like this photo as it shows the scale with multiple ibm quantum systems ones. In my view the team has done great work making this datacenter stable, reliable, and flexible
📺WATCH: During our hearing on emerging tech, Cyber Subcommittee Chair @RepYvetteClarke explained, "with each passing day, we see the pace of innovation accelerate exponentially...as such, we must constantly reevaluate the threat landscape and adapt our defenses accordingly"
@RepYvetteClarke thank you for the opportunity to testify on Quantum Safe before the House Homeland Security’s subcommittee on cyber security, critical infrastructure, & innovations. @IBMQuantum
