I know so many teachers out there just want things to return to normal. But please bear in mind that the old normal no longer exists. Our Ss have endured things we never even imagined at their age. We need a new normal; one where mental health and engagement in class is paramount

@meg_emerson Have you had a chance to decide what "defeating" the boss means? Does the class need an overall % on the test to win? What happens if they don't meet the goal? I really like the way you've put this together -- I think the Ss will love it!

A4: I've played around a bit with the idea of having Ss teach each other the content, but haven't gone too far with that. I could go a little farther in giving them control here... #xplap

A3: The highest level of points for each stage is always a creation Quest, where students are asked to make something all new to showcase content. I change it up with each topic, so posters, poems, songs, and stories all make a debut. #xplap

A2: As a warm up for second marking period I ask how Ss thought the first marking period went. What they would change, etc. Repeat for beginning and end of 3rd marking period. #xplap
