Cross-Conference

Now living at A womens soccer podcast.

Bummed for Boston. The Breakers were my favorite team in WUSA and I still have a bit of affection for them.

Check out the feature @PortlandPilots did on our new coaching staff!

Wait, people are actually upset about this trade??

[Cross-Conference @crossconference]

@fitzcamel Yes, it is very petty, but I have tended and nurtured this grudge like a pet, a-la Madeline on Big Little Lies.

[Cross-Conference @crossconference]

@fitzcamel She fouled Stephanie Lopez (Cox) a bunch and then was super rude about it to boot. Penn State lost and later she transferred to UNC.

[Cross-Conference @crossconference]

Perennial reminder that I still dislike Long because of something she did 12 years ago at the semifinal of the College Cup.

[Cross-Conference @crossconference]

@HarrisonPDX except maybe the Pilots. *lights candle, says prayer*

[Cross-Conference @crossconference]

Me: I should check into what’s up in the soccer world!

@backseatgaffer Oh for sure. I would love Mac as coach. But good to avoid the theme of carrying on someone else’s legacy instead of creating their own.

[Cross-Conference @crossconference]

@backseatgaffer It’s not mandatory, but I’m sure there’s a nice list of very qualified candidates. Key is giving *them* the same patience given to Smith.

[Cross-Conference @crossconference]

The actual practice is defensible, but for crying out loud, don’t put it in papers for recruits to read and rival coaches to exploit.

[Cross-Conference @crossconference]

I hope the next Pilots coach has the good sense to not blatantly advertise moving attacking players to defense mid-career on a whim.

[Cross-Conference @crossconference]

This changed the trajectory of my whole day. https://t.co/rdFJ8djoLf

[Cross-Conference @crossconference]

What’s going on, folks?

[Cross-Conference @crossconference]

Strange question: if you have a friend with a torn ACL/LCL, what’s something nice you can do for them?

[Cross-Conference @crossconference]

@chris_awk I feel very, very badly for everyone involved.

[Cross-Conference @crossconference]

@ang_15s It was a slog. Any supporter not demanding a management change needs to examine their priorities.

[Cross-Conference @crossconference]

Wow, the Pilots squeak by with a 1-0 win on a PK. OSU didn’t really deeply threaten, but were mostly untroubled.

[Cross-Conference @crossconference]

The ref grants a PK to the Pilots, but it really sounded more like a safety word.
