Year 1 have been learning about Georgia O'Keeffe and have used paint to create their own poppy in her style. The children used the powder paints to create a range of reds and oranges. They look amazing!

In Reception, we enjoyed a surprise visit from some cheeky pirates! The children were asked to look after some treasure but while they were outside the pirates took it all! The children worked together as a team to answer the clues and found the missing treasure! #EYFS #teamwork

Year 2 have visited @stibb_centre this week. They took a trip back into the Victorian times and learnt what it was like to be a Victorian child. The children had an amazing day and were so grateful to be returning to Crosshall, not a Victorian classroom!

In Reception, our topic is ‘Autumn Time’.The children have enjoyed autumnal activities during their Outdoor Activities sessions.They have collected lots of natural objects, then used these objects to create pictures in the style of @GoldsworthyAndy

The Year 2 children thoroughly enjoyed their visit from the Planetarium today. In the big dome the children were able to visit Saturn, Venus and Jupiter and find out where to spot them in our night sky. #space #year2 #TeamCIS

The children in Reception have loved their first lesson with @CUCTrust .They worked really hard and enjoyed all of the different games they played with Mr Tester. We are looking forward to working with Mr T throughout the Autumn term!

This week in Reception, the children have been learning about the artist @artistkandinsky. We looked at colour mixing and talked about primary and secondary colours. We then recreated his famous ‘Squares with Concentric Circles’ art work. We are very proud of our end result!

As part of our Healthy Week, Year 1 & 2 children were invited to take part in a mini Euros event hosted by @CUCTrust. All of the children thoroughly enjoyed this event with one child saying “I’ve never played football before but I love it now. This has been so much fun!”

As part of our Animal Magic topic, Reception had ‘Wild Science’ come in to tell us some fun facts about different animals. We touched an African Land Snail, a Corn Snake and we even cuddled a Guinea Pig! The children thoroughly enjoyed their special day!
