UEFA have informed us that because no one on the planet understands the handball rules, it’s been decided that we will simply allow handballs from now on
People diminishing Crystal Palace’s Conference League win because they are the third English side to win it should remember that Leicester, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa all failed to do so. If it were simply about finances, there would have been five English champions.
It's such a nonsensical argument. Real Madrid have won the Champions League 15 times and are the richest club in the world — but there isn't a problem with that. The whole idea stinks of sour grapes. #CPFC
@prodnose I agree…to a point.
Nothing like the FA Cup.
Stop the bitterness though Danny, any Milwall fan would sell their gran for a sniff of either and we all know it.
EXC 🚨: UEFA have CONFIRMED that this will be the LAST season that the Conference League will be considered a major trophy, with the winners crowned “Champions of Europe”.
From next season the competition will be DOWNGRADED to a pointless and irrelevant tournament featuring “tiny” and “tinpot” clubs.
Brighton’s links with the Chelsea/Strasbourg setup are looking more dodgy by the week.
Chelsea signed Cucurella, Caicedo, Sánchez and João Pedro directly from Brighton.
Then Julio Enciso goes from Brighton to Strasbourg, with Chelsea his eventual destination.
Valentín Barco follows the exact same Brighton, Strasbourg pathway… develops there… and now signs for Chelsea too.
At what point does this stop looking like normal transfers between separate clubs and start looking like Brighton are unofficially part of the same multi club network?
I’m hearing that Andy Burnham has purchased a meal deal at WH Smith in Euston station. Beth, Sam and Sophy are en route to ask the checkout assistant what flavour crisps he chose.
Meanwhile Nigel Farage trousered a £5m bung and didn’t declare it.
Back to the crisps story.
16 years ago today, Crystal Palace travelled to Sheffield Wednesday on the final day of the Championship season needing a point to survive relegation, having been given a 10 point deduction for going into administration in the January of 2010.
The players, despite not having been paid a penny for 3 months continued to play for pure pride in the shirt and managed to get the all important 2-2 draw thanks to goals from Alan Lee and Darren Ambrose. That summer, CPFC2010 took over, having mobilised the fans to protest on the streets and stop the club from being liquidated.
On Thursday night just gone, we won a European semi-final 3-1 away from home against Shakhtar in Krakow, having made it into Europe thanks to the FA Cup win in May of 2025; the first major trophy in the club’s entire history.
The club is a totally different to the one we watched that day at Hillsborough but without the blood, sweat and tears of that group, none of what we’ve gone on to achieve would have been possible.
❤️💙
