After going through the recruiting process a couple of times, these are great questions. Parents....Don't be afraid to ask. Or, have your child ask the questions.
๐งต The 7 questions every family should ask a college coach on an official visit.
Not the polite ones every recruit asks. The ones that actually tell you what the next four years will look like.
After 35 years on both sides, these are the ones that separate the families who choose well from those who choose blind.

I can never understand how a high school athlete can be at a club tournament, playing in front of dozens of college coaches, and still show a bad attitude, no hustle, and no effort. Thatโs a wasted opportunity for the athlete, the parents sacrificing time and money, the college coaches recruiting, and the teammates beside them. College coaches notice EVERYTHING, not just talent. They notice body language, energy, communication, effort, and how you respond when things arenโt going your way.
Using social media to properly promote your program/yourself is a BIG part of the summer. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with some tasteful self-promotion.
You donโt NEED fancy graphics either.
Your program/team account should be posting the final score with 2-3 top performers and tagging relevant media following EVERY game. This is so incredibly easy to do, takes two minutes, and is FREE.
Players, at the very least, following each weekend you should post your stats of each game you played (highlights too if available) and tag relevant media. It really isnโt too much to do it following every game either though. Information is power and the more that is out there the better.
I see so many programs that have video people following them around every weekendโฆif for some reason you canโt/wonโt take the two minutes to throw up a postgame tweet send the information to that person you are already paying and have them do it. In many cases those tweets are much more valuable than the highlights and pictures that are being captured.
It is completely inexcusable in my opinion to coach a team or run a program without putting out the simplest amount of information on a game to game basis when it is so easy to do and totally FREE.
