However, the people in charge of Transfermarkt Turkey do not perform their duties professionally; on the contrary, they act like hooligans for the teams they support and manipulate the market values ​​of players in the Turkish league. For instance, they deliberately lower the values ​​of players who transfer to Beşiktaş in order to harm the club. Let me give you a specific example:

A user named Sinan Yener (@yener_sinan) lowered Orkun Kökçü’s value from 30 to 25 when Orkun—in a surprise move—rejected Liverpool to join Beşiktaş, the team he had supported since childhood. He cited the reason for this drop as "we lowered his value because Orkun came to the Turkish league." Yet, Orkun was named the best player in the Turkish league that season. Furthermore, he led the Turkish national team to the World Cup with his outstanding individual performances. Instead of rising from 30 to 40 million euros, his market value dropped to 25. What’s funny is this: Wilfred Singo, for example, also moved from Europe to Turkey, but his value increased immediately upon arrival 😃. Why? Was it because Singo transferred to Galatasaray instead of Beşiktaş??? This is a double standard and an injustice. I suspect the person handling these value adjustments is a Galatasaray hooligan. Moreover, Singo has been injured and unable to play for a year and a half, yet his value was only lowered to 23 million. So, even though Orkun was the league's best player, his value dropped from 30 to 25 (a decrease of 5 million). Meanwhile, Singo’s value increased without him even stepping onto the pitch properly. And then, despite being sidelined by injury for a year and a half, his value dropped from 28 to 23 (a drop of only 5 million, just like Orkun).

Furthermore, the user with the handle @MertKck is a Trabzonspor fanatic. In fact, his old Twitter and current Transfermarkt username is AgnusDei61. The number 61 at the end of that name is Trabzon’s vehicle license plate code in Turkey; Trabzonspor fans frequently use the number 61. From this, you can see how they artificially and easily inflate market values ​​for Trabzonspor players.

How do you think a team that has won the championship only once in 40 years—and hasn't even played particularly well in the league—ends up with such a high market value? It’s thanks to this person named Mert.

Nevertheless, as Beşiktaş fans, we have a serious grievance regarding Sinan Yener in particular. Nepotism is rife in many sectors in Turkey at the expense of meritocracy, and unfortunately, a similar situation has occurred on your site, which is otherwise a high-quality global platform. Instead of qualified professionals, the roles have been filled by individuals who let their devotion to a specific team cloud their professional judgment. We want this rectified. We want an end to the absurd injustices committed against the Beşiktaş squad during the September 30th market value update.
