@dillon_mulroy@rawkode@remarkabler9 Stop going round and round with clankers trying to prove your Typescript. This is why we built the first sound type JS interop language that actually proves soundness at runtime!
Worried about supply chain attacks? Our Rust 🦀 JS engine vendors only Cranelift and libc. We own everything else. Download the source and compile a release build in ~1 minute!

@AlexandreGrdl Market placement matters, but our users are also technicians, so building under them does matter. Cruft is infrastructure before it is product. But the technical dividends are what allow the product to emerge.
It’s a good question! Part of it is simply binary size. Cruft is a JS runtime that runs 9/10 npm packages but ships at less than half the size. The same reason we rolled our own JS engine is the same reason we didn’t depend on OpenSSL. Our start up times are lower than than Node and about the same as Bun. If we vendored dependencies we’d just be another 90 - 110mb JS runtime. And people have enough of those. Instead, the other runtime’s ceilings are our floors.
