@samuelsmith1988 You’re lying to yourself. 35k every week is a stretch. Also it’s the national league team… the national union team last year sold out every game? Averaging a crowd size of 30k. Two games had over 1.3 million people watching, doesn’t sound like a dying sport to me
@samuelsmith1988 Way different, the national league team that hasn’t played in Wellington since 2023, verse a team that plays there every Saturday? Of course more people will go to the game that doesn’t happen often.
@adawesy1 @mitchclarke1 Where do you get that idea from? Rugby isn’t struggling in nz. Numbers don’t back that claim at all. All blacks viewership numbers hit 1.3mill twice last year. That’s over 20% of the country, twice. Wait till we get to the World Cup next year. Viewership will be massive
