@rhpnovascotia@CBCNS Yup, operating and carry cost have all increased well over the 7 yeat "temporary" cap on rent control. Hosing providers are being forced to subsidize tenants out of pocket. No one wins in this game of government coercion. Long-term damage is being done.
@nspc I called EHS to come to help an elderly lady who fell over an enbankment. When they arrived they were very cavalier. I asked them to hurry because the lady needed immediate help. The Paramedic stopped to to talk to me for a few minutes to lecture me on how he must move safely.
@TimHoustonNS Stop providing free health care to non-residents and tourists. Why is Nova Scotia a welfare state for free health care to the world? Immigrants are coming for free benefits. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT?
@rhpnovascotia I assume the article is referencing low end older stock and subsidized units. I have over 30 units of older units (60 year old units) which I've owned for 40 years. The current vacancy rate is more like 5%. I've had to reduce my rents 10% and have done substantial renovations.
@TimHoustonNS People can't afford the basics in NS because our taxes are the highest in the country. Business's with potential and highly educated professionals leave for better opportunities because taxes are too high.
@TimHoustonNS You're posturing to win votes. Take care and control of the government waste. Stop handing out millions to immigrants in Healthcare who come here to get free Healthcare with very expensive and challenging needs. Stop bullying housing providers and NSP and look in your own backyd.
@TheMoonShow The problem I have with crypto is it is premised as an asset as a stable store of value. It is far from achieving this objective. It is highly unstable and you encourage large swings in value which will cause the collapse of crypto.
