@Geoff_Pearson Have just been reading Red Zones by Sylvestre and Blomley et al. It captures the cyclical, self perpetuating dangers of over use of these types of conditional/preventative orders very well, albeit in Canada.
Almost all of these powers to prevent anti-social behaviour already exist in the various civil preventative powers on the statute book (esp CPNs, CBOs & PSPOs). We recently wrote about the dangers of stacking different orders here:

Our new article on Civil Preventative Powers and Free Expression and Assembly is published in the latest @PL_PublicLaw. In it we argue: (1) that insufficient attention has been paid to how the conditions attached to CPPs can restrict human rights...

For anyone interested, I’ve penned a few thoughts on disruptive protests and the need for an urgent review of public order law by this new @UKLabour Govt
It’s in this fine collection of essays put together by @LabourCHR and @AmnestyUK

Civil liberties group @libertyhq has accused the Government of showing “disregard for the rule of law” after the Home Officedecided to continue with an appeal against a High Court ruling over protest laws following talks https://t.co/l39CmgI6Xt
"It is hard to square lower sentences for those who terrify the public than for those who inconvenience the public." @davidallengreen questions why sentences for violent disorder are lower than those for peaceful protest https://t.co/ZO16UXFIav
UPDATE
Home Office has delayed the appeal hearing that was set for tomorrow
After winning our #DefendDemocracy case against Braverman’s laws that ignored Parliament, former Gov appealed before calling the election
New Gov wants more time to decide whether to go ahead or not
I’m afraid this is legally flaws as a proposition. The right to protest has been recognised both here & in Strasbourg as including in some limited circumstances breaking domestic laws
If this were not so, how simple it would to outlaw peaceful protest through domestic measures
All police forces have a duty under the Human Rights Act to protect the freedoms of expression and peaceful assembly. This can include peaceful protests that may breach domestic law. This is recognised in UK public order APP, protest policing advice, and POPS command training.
🇬🇧 Today marks a very dark day for fundamental human rights in the UK. Daniel Shaw and his co-defendants have been sentenced to spend 4 & 5 years in a prison cell for planning a peaceful protest. This decision is beyond comprehension. Full statement here: https://t.co/z3AjeUs4Us
These are very long sentences indeed for peaceful though highly disruptive protests - the longest ever? 4 to 5 years in prison for (I think) the new statutory offence of causing public nuisance
