@LouisaGregson Depends what kind of story you’re after, I have a story about overcoming a traumatic cancer journey to get my PhD (short version featured in Lancaster Guardian but would love to have it expanded).
Did you know flowers can tell time? 🌼🕰️
In the 1700s, botanist Carl Linnaeus dreamed up a “flower clock” made of plants that open and close at specific hours of the day. 🌸💡
Imagine a garden where blooms unfold like clock hands—dandelions at 8 a.m., goat’s beard by noon, and evening primrose at dusk. Nature’s own gentle timekeeper. ⏳🌿
Hey, Victorianists! Did you know that you can see some Victorian ambrotypes and tintypes for free at the Bod at Weston in Oxford? How cool! Also on display are some leaves of Shakespeare’s First Folio and a Gutenberg Bible! I feel absolutely spoiled at #BAVS2025 already!
Excited to be back in Oxford, this time for #BAVS2025. Not presenting this time, which means I can spend more time enjoying the plethora of interesting presentations! 🥰 And I’m staying in the prettiest building (Rhodes House)!
Ready for #RSVP2025 this morning! Can’t wait to present later this afternoon on Linda Gardiner’s periodical publications on behalf of the RSPB 🥰 #VoicesVisions
Pleased as punch (pun intended) that I’ve been accepted to present on Sambourne’s bird-related Designs After Nature at the British Library in November 😍
These vibrant tiles, designed by William De Morgan and painted with a William Morris pattern, were made in 1877 for a grand estate. Forgotten in a cupboard, they were rediscovered in 1928, perfectly preserved. A rare glimpse of Arts & Crafts brilliance.
Completely unlike myself, I'm starting my presentation slides for #RSVP2025#VoicesVisions 20 days before the conference, as opposed to doing it on the flight there 😂
Don’t forget! Our first (free!) members-only writing retreat is on 21 June, 10am–3pm (UK).
Whether you're drafting a paper, editing a book, or just need focused time—you're welcome!
Structured blocks, breaks & reflection included. Check your email to register!
