We’re at the end of the Financial Freedom Series!

Here are the biggest takeaways from my experience

1⃣ Plan for the “worst” case scenario

Most of us have the majority of our NW in crypto which is a very volatile asset class, even the king $BTC

So have a backup plan if it were to go to zero.

Although highly unlikely, it’s not impossible.

But what would you do if this were to happen?

Now, if your NW is in some sh*tcoin, good lord, bless your soul 👇

2⃣ NW diversification is VIP

Not a popular idea on CT but when crypto is in the sh*tter, you’ll change your mind.

When the 2022 bear market hit, my crypto pf was REKT!

But I was still getting cash flow from my properties along with a sexy dose of asset appreciation to ride out the storm.

It may not sound cool to diversify but it's absolutely irresponsible not to.

You want to enjoy your time, not stressed all the time

3⃣ Get all your uncollateralized mortgages/loans before leaving the 9-5

It will be very challenging to do so in retirement.

You can still get them if you have a profitable biz with a track record of 1-2yrs.

Crypto lending still has a ways to go.

4⃣Plan for years ahead

If you’re single and plan to have a family, calculate what the total cost with a family of 4 will be in retirement and aim for that target.

A safe figure for a high cost of living area is about $5M liquid net

In a low cost of living geo (eg: south east asia), you will need just $1-2M

5⃣Where to invest your money

If your goal is to retire early, you shouldn’t max out your retirement accounts above company matching levels.

I went heavy maxing out retirement accounts early in my career b/c boomers recommended that lol

It’s hard to pull that money out without penalties if you retire early.

If I had to do it again, I’d go super heavy in Real Estate and Crypto instead.

RE has higher probability of success, but slower.

Crypto has lower probability of success, but faster.

Good things take time..

6⃣How will you spend your time?

Think about how you will spend your time in retirement - the meaningful activities, not partying 24/7 😆

Who will you hang out with from 9-5?

I did the party & beach bum thing but i felt very empty.

Since then, I’ve focused on building & helping others and it has been the most rewarding.

Find something that is fulfilling (for you)
