@ThinkingDM I hate running a fight in which one of my PCs has four low rolls and effectively ends up sitting out the battle. A system which permits that kind of outcome is badly flawed, and needs an overhaul.
@aliDasDnD I have GM'ed for years. I'm always a bit stressed during prep, and always in the zone during play. Have someone at the table take session notes, so you can concentrate on doing your job. You've got this.
@johnneh Your eyes are clearly focused on a nearby person.
Benign? Threatening? You are cautiously optimistic.
The hot beverage is your holdout, just in case.
๐Dark Mode is ready on Dev for Pro Users to see our work-in-progress and will be available to everyone by the end of the month!
๐Go toggle NOW!
๐More work to be done but HUZZAH!

@Crabsaregreat @aliDasDnD @Chris33589 5e PCs are so resilient, and have so many ways to cheat death, that I've almost eliminated healing potions at my table as well.
@aliDasDnD It's a full action. Per the fiction of the game, you're also ducking & parrying & attacking during those 6 seconds. You'd certainly lose any DEX bonuses to AC, and incur disadvantage on your attack.
@DirtyDiceGoblin If you have a master plan for your campaign, it's very likely that the Deck will either completely derail it or require you to do massive work to patch and repair.
If you welcome the unexpected, the Deck is a mighty Engine of New Story.
@feliciaday Was yours the kind that has separate top and bottom plates? My Thornton Adjustable Positioner has lasted three years. Battered but fully functional.
@FozzieStumporus@MerricB Yes. I would love to be able to run less murdery (and thereby more realistic) D&D, but grappling is not satisfying at all. Grappling should be integrated into combat, not tacked on.
@MerricB It does not encourage characters to innovate in combat. So many times I see my players sigh and cast "another Eldritch Blast" because that was the mathematically correct move. My heart goes out to them.
