Cosmonauts ⚛️
Tomorrow, I’m sitting down with Jae Kwon, the inventor of Tendermint and co-founder of @Cosmos.
The first time we went on air was April 2022, when @_gnoland was still a testnet. Today it has a live mainnet and 3.2M ATOM wallets in its airdrop.
What we’ll cover:
▫️ From Tendermint to https://t.co/UrUZxAz5ag
▫️ The end goal for https://t.co/UrUZxAz5ag and https://t.co/m6pEBwC8Td
▫️ Why fork ATOM, and where the Cosmos Hub stands today
▫️ Is Jae building the new Cosmos?
▫️ What ATOM holders should actually do on https://t.co/UrUZxAz5ag
▫️ Quantum and privacy
What would you ask Jae?
Drop your questions below and the best ones make it into the interview.
If you hold AKT, here's what the Solana move means:
▫️ Nothing changes until the vote closes on November 2.
▫️ If it passes, AKT launches on Solana about 2 to 3 weeks later.
▫️ You get 2 years to move your AKT over, 1:1 and one way only.
▫️ Staked AKT can move in one step, after the 21-day unbonding.
▫️ AKT on Osmosis has to go back to Akash's own chain first.
▫️ Staking rewards end at the final switch.
Akash leaving Cosmos is a big loss for the ecosystem.
It's one of the few Cosmos projects with a product people actually pay for.
Their reason is simple: running your own chain costs a lot, and they weren't using what it gives them.
I think every Cosmos team running its own chain will now get asked the same question.
$AKT
Akash is voting on leaving Cosmos for Solana.
So far about 98% of votes are yes, and the vote closes on November 2.
If it passes, AKT becomes a Solana token about 2 to 3 weeks later.
The marketplace itself only moves after another vote, so nothing changes for users yet.
We are pleased to welcome Justin Sun, Founder of TRON to the Hong Kong Digital Asset Summit.
Justin’s work as TRON’s founder spans the blockchain networks underpinning digital asset activity.
The summit will explore how digital asset services operate in practice, bringing financial institutions, public-sector participants and blockchain infrastructure providers into the same conversation. Payments, settlement, market access and operational requirements are central to that discussion.

$NEAR
As of October 22, Bitwise's NEAR ETF held about 17.6M NEAR, worth roughly $83M.
That's about the same amount of NEAR as the week before, so the drop in value came from the price, not from investors pulling out.
All of it is staked, earning about 3.3% a year after fees.
I don't hold NEAR. Stakecito runs NEAR infrastructure.
Nine days until @CosmoverseHQ in Hong Kong.
On stage this year are Hong Kong's government, the SFC and the BIS Innovation Hub, next to BlackRock, HSBC, Standard Chartered and UBS.
I'm already in Asia for it.
If you're around November 4 to 6, let me know.
If you still hold stATOM or stTIA from Stride, mark November 20.
That's roughly when you can swap them back on Osmosis at a fixed rate.
Until then there's nothing to do, but they don't earn rewards anymore.
A mixed week for the coins I watch.
Last 7 days:
▫️ BABY +19.4%
▫️ OSMO +16.9%
▫️ ATOM -5.2%
▫️ AKT -8.4%
▫️ INJ -11.4%
▫️ NEAR -11.7%
▫️ TIA -14.6%
▫️ SEI -14.8%
▫️ STRK -25.8%
Bitcoin is down about 3%.
Which one are you watching?
I hold OSMO, BABY, TIA and SEI, plus small amounts of INJ, AKT and ATOM.
$OSMO
Osmosis just voted to end OSMO inflation.
About 91% voted yes. Almost nobody voted no.
Until now, about 91,000 new OSMO were minted every day, and from now on that number is zero.
Stakers get paid only from the fees Osmosis earns.
OSMO is up about 17% over the past 7 days.
Full transparency: I hold OSMO

The days of throwing a dart at CoinMarketCap and making money are over. The market is more institutional and more serious now, and the investing methodology has changed with it.
Why I think altcoins can still run without a broad altseason.
Two years of brutal bear market did the distribution work. Early holders sold, and coins like TIA and SEI are deep into their vesting.
When sell pressure runs out, price does not need much to move.
$AKT
Since March 23, paying for compute on Akash burns AKT.
Customers burn AKT to get credits pegged to the US dollar.
Providers then get paid in newly minted AKT at the current price.
When AKT goes up, fewer tokens get minted back than were burned, so supply shrinks.
The open question is demand, because the burn only matters if enough people pay for compute.
I still hold a little AKT.
In two weeks, @CosmoverseHQ is in Hong Kong, November 4 to 6 at the Grand Hyatt.
About half the room this year are institutions, allocators and regulators.
If you're in Asia that week, come say hi.
Starknet holders just finished voting on whether Starknet should research leaving Ethereum to become its own quantum-safe chain.
About 93% voted yes, from around 3,240 voters.
The vote isn't binding, a yes only means the research starts.
If the research goes ahead, I wonder which Ethereum L2 gets asked the same question next.
I don't hold STRK.
$INJ
Earlier this month, Gulf Labs went live as a validator on Injective.
Gulf Labs belongs to Thailand's Gulf Group, a company worth about $27B.
In August, an Injective affiliate also became an SEC-registered transfer agent.
That means it can keep the official ownership records for tokenized stocks and funds.
For me, this matters as much as the ETF filings.
I hold a small amount of INJ.
$INJ
Three US ETFs that would hold INJ are waiting at the SEC, from 21Shares, Canary and REX-Osprey.
None of them has been approved yet.
In September, 21Shares and Canary updated their filings, which is usually a sign of progress.
Injective CEO Eric Chen says he expects them to launch before 2027.
INJ is up about 14% over the past 30 days.
I hold a small amount of INJ.
