Crypto neobanks are just more of the same. Similar model, fees for tiers, plus friction (have to convert to stables and mostly USDC).
Even non-custodial, if the platform that holds your smart wallet disappears, you might not have a way to access your funds.
Anyone with your wallet address can see every:
- Token you hold
- App you use
- Account you've sent funds to
That's not how money is supposed to work and Kohaku is changing this 🧵
Why would I want this? I'd rather hold CHF than any form of US currenshit. The fact that most crypto "neobank" forces you to US "stables" is the very thing that drives me away from using them.

🏦 CHF in from any bank → lands as 𝗨𝗦𝗗𝗖 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗱𝘆
🔁 USDC out → back to CHF, just as easily

@uwwgo Yep, it's great. I am also elegible for the card but decided not to open it. The app looks great, but that's about it. Not better than what I use now (behind the scenes the infra / providers are the same). So no differentiator. Just looks.

We’ll be watching🍿
What "shitfluencers" don't tell you about crypto neobanks that brand themselves as "self custodial".
Most don't have a way to retrieve backup or private key without their app. If they go down, how do you access your funds? That's not self custody. That's bullshit.
