🚨🚨🚨The people in #Lahaina #Hawaii think that the government has done something horrible to them and I don’t blame them - This #Lahaina resident/attorney goes OFF on the #Maui City Council about all the strange/intentional things that happened, leading up to the catastrophe :

(1) “Why was the power NOT shut off!?

People should be held liable for this, because this was gross-negligence and STANDARD PROCEDURE!!”

(2) “Why did the police BLOCK people from coming in and out of #Lahaina!?

100s of people were backed up on the streets with their cars and LOST THEIR LIVES because of it!!

Residents that escaped on foot saw the police officers blocking people in AND they had to create their own ESCAPE ROUTE!!!!

This needs to be investigated by a third party that has no affiliations with the government!!”

(3) “Why does the state want to purchase the land!?

The Governor already came out and said that he wants to purchase this land!? THIS LAND BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE ALREADY!!!!

I’m an ATTORNEY and a lot of these things just don’t MAKE SENSE!! These things HAVE TO BE INVESTIGATED!!! At the very least it’s GROSS-NEGLIGENCE by the government AND it could be CRIMINAL!!!

It's insulting. Do not forget the people. And Green's actions right there, getting taken out by his handler, come on guys. I saw all your faces. I think some of you were shocked too, except for the people whispering in the front, cause he warned you he was gonna walk away.

You wanna know why? Our voices. He wants to silence us every time. He does not listen. I am asking all of you at this table to make sure he listens. But we know very well that you guys, as the third largest stakeholders this state, do want that land and can take it when you deem it a natural disaster. And that is disgusting. And that is why I'm also here today, because someone needs to call that out. We wanted in.

I know it says on there on the door there is no black cards or no signs but isn't that very uh so so much contradictions that you can't have a sign you can't have a voice they're like loopholes on paper written by developers and those that are in charge that make the decisions for the state for the different counties i've been in this meeting and i've heard developers say the loopholes they know how to work around it paper to get things passed through.
