I would love to see a similar program for District 3 @ByronAmos. We have the lowest % of drivers and highest % of walkers, bikers, and transit riders of any district, but our streets are some of the most dangerous. We need sidewalks, bus stops and bike lanes in D3.
Thanks @LilianaforATL for sharing this info! Residents of District 5, check out the process and get involved in participatory budgeting for district transportation $ (Last year voters authored $750M infrastructure funds incl $1.5M discretionary transportation funds per district)

We are planners and urban designers that create plans and write zoning / development codes for more livable and equitable places. We’d love to talk to you about our open position!
Want to learn about zoning, why it matters, and how we can do it better? I'm excited to share some courses I've been working on with @plnzcourses based on our work at @code_studio. This one covers the basics of a better approach to zoning.

Planners, architect, and community leaders: I’ve been working with @plnzcourses on some exciting courses on zoning based on work we do at @code_studio, the first one is previewed below. Other zoning-related course ideas welcomed!
Planetizen Courses is premiering a video on zoning at the top of the hour. Join the premier to be the first to see the film, learn about zoning from @cs_dodson, and chat with Planetizen's James Brasuell and Diana Ionescu.

Maybe this means we can spend the next 4 years investing in quality public spaces and walkable development to benefit all Atlantans.
More bike lanes, transit, sidewalks, street trees, and mixed-use development please.
1 The I-20 on-ramp at Bill Kennedy has been an awful example of how our interstate system has worsened inequity while complicating our efforts reclaim our urban spaces. Bill Kennedy gets headlines because of the @AtlantaBeltLine, but it's not the only place where this happens.
Come work with me at @Code_Studio on interesting and impactful projects in cities across the US - we have 2 open positions. Bonus if you live in Atlanta, we can collaborate in person.

"This exterior design showcases the iconic MARTA colors alongside the railcar, carrying your eye down the length of the train, capturing the speed of the train while highlighting its modern sleek design. The first one will pull into metro Atlanta in 2023!" --Jeffrey Parker
I’m running for Governor because opportunity in our state shouldn’t be determined by zip code, background or access to power. #gapol

On a run yesterday, I experienced this research first hand. Streets lined with trees feel safer and more comfortable than stretches like Hollowell Prkwy with bad sidewalks and no trees. Good urban design and healthy/equitable cities go hand in hand - excited to see more research.
It's a scavenger hunt! Each Friday in Oct we’ll post 4 housing types for you to find. Tag @atlplanning & #acdhousinghunt. 3 will win a weekly prize; all who finish get an Atlanta City Design book & entry to win lunch w/Commissioner Keane. The hunt begins 10/1!
@tkotak013@MARTAservice@ATLDOT @AtlDistrict3 @WestmorelandATL Yes please - people fly on West Marietta, I’ve had too many close calls on bike and on foot. Need some traffic slowing / calming ASAP, no reason for this area to be a race track.
Lately I've been thinking a lot about how you get mass production of accessible, detached single-family housing, and I've been returning to this classix @OldUrbanist piece on lot sizes: https://t.co/UJMbzqLYuC
