With each deep breath, you are installing new software of positivity, confidence, and success into your mind. You are becoming the master of your own programming, able to easily delete any negative thoughts and replace them with empowering ones.
There are two versions of your life. The one that looks good to others. And the one that actually feels right to you.
Most people never stop to ask which one they’re building.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reportedly delayed the publication of its report detailing the benefits of the COVID-19 vaccine at the behest of its acting director. https://t.co/Q0gkLGazp4
Occasional anxiety is an expected part of life, but anxiety disorders—like Social Anxiety Disorder (Social Phobia)—involve more than temporary worry or fear. Learn about the signs & symptoms of social phobia & find help for yourself or loved ones: https://t.co/wBinivryvk…
I’ve lived it and spent years around people struggling with addiction, mental health, and homelessness, and one thing has become painfully clear:
Expecting someone to be drug-free before they can access housing isn’t realistic, and it keeps people trapped in crisis.
No one gets healthier living on a sidewalk.
No one stabilizes while worrying about where they’ll sleep or how they’ll survive the night.
But when people have a safe place to live, everything can begin to change.
Health improves, dignity returns, and hope becomes possible.
For many, recovery finally has a real foundation.
Housing isn’t a reward for getting better.
Housing is what makes getting better possible.
If we truly want fewer deaths, stronger communities, and real solutions, we have to start where healing actually begins... with a home, and better addiction and mental health resources attached to it. PERIOD.
Because of conventional medicine:
Your mother didn't die in childbirth
You didn't get polio as a kid
You've never seen smallpox
Your friend with type 1 diabetes is alive because of insulin
You recovered from that infection because of antibiotics
Science saves lives!
For me, I'm sure picking up meth again would be glorious for, maybe, the first month. The problem is that this wouldn't last and the consequences would start to build up. So I'm sticking with my 32 years #sobriety. #recoveryposse#wedorecover
Psychotherapist Beware:
I'm writing book re risk insurance companies/health systems will use chatbots to replace humans.
Already happening- 2000 therapists did 1 day strike vs Kaiser's chatbot plans.
Crucial we keep human touch in therapy/make chatbots assistants, not rivals.
Healing from trauma requires gentleness, quiet, routine, warmth, a sense of belonging & knowing that someone cares. Relationships are the gold of trauma healing. Isolating is living in the sewer & it ignites past feelings of being discarded. Find someone who is can show empathy.
The goal of trauma therapy is to re-regulate the nervous system. There are so many easy ways to do this: opening & closing your jaw slowly, walking in nature, deep breathing, putting your bare feet on the ground and focusing on the sensations the feet record, talking to a friend.
