Today, @Sheriff_Rosie, alongside Chief Chaplain Rabbi Mark Rosenberg, hosted our Pre-High Jewish Holiday Meeting at #MDSO Headquarters.

A collaborative assembly, comprising multiple law enforcement agencies at the Local, State, and Federal levels, alongside Community Leaders, Rabbis, the Attorney General, and the Dade County Prosecutor's Office, convened to address recent tragedies, evaluate safety protocols, and enhance communication with religious institutions in anticipation of the upcoming High Holidays.

From holiday observances to community safety, this gathering focused on ensuring awareness, preparedness during these sacred days.

Together, we remain committed to safeguarding our community and standing strong against hate.

Two Israeli Embassy staff members were murdered in a brutal act of antisemitic violence on the streets of Washington, D.C. earlier last week. In the wake of this unspeakable tragedy, Chesed Shel Emes volunteers worked to ensure the victims were treated with dignity in accordance with Jewish law. Dignity in death is a deeply held value within Jewish tradition, and the dignity of these two young victims was protected thanks to swift and compassionate action.

We are deeply grateful to Attorney General Pam Bondi for recognizing the selfless work of Chesed Shel Emes volunteers, who responded immediately to the scene in Washington, D.C. earlier last week to ensure the victims were honored according to Jewish law. Thank you, @AGPamBondi, for your support, your prayers, and your unwavering commitment to justice and human dignity.

We also want to thank Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun, who was nominated by President Trump to serve as Special Envoy and Ambassador-at-Large to Combat Global Antisemitism, for being at the scene alongside our team and taking on such a critical role. At a time when strong leadership and moral clarity are urgently needed in the fight against antisemitism, his presence and support is greatly appreciated.

I am deeply saddened by the horrific and cold-blooded murder of two Israeli Embassy staff members in Washington, D.C. earlier this week. This senseless act of hate is a painful reminder of the threats our community continues to face, and we must remain vigilant, united, and resolute in combatting antisemitism. Acts of hate and terror have no place in our society and must be met with zero tolerance and the full force of the law, wherever and whenever they occur.

@ChesedShelEmes ensured the victims were treated with full dignity in accordance with Jewish law, and we are especially grateful to @AGPamBondi for her support and exceptional leadership during this terrible tragedy. Her immediate action and personal dedication to ensuring respect and justice for the victims did not go unnoticed. We also thank @SenRickScott for his vital assistance and for always speaking out forcefully against hatred and standing strong in the fight against antisemitism—including through his leadership of the @SenateAging, which has remained a firm voice against antisemitism in all its forms. We extend our sincere appreciation to the @DCPoliceDept as well for their swift and respectful cooperation.
