Everyone should pay attention to Pakistan's pro-democracy movement
This is the biggest challenge to the US-backed military regime in years
"Field Marshal" Asim Munir badly lost the last elections to Imran Khan — but rigged the results & repressed speech
Supporters of Pakistan’s former prime minister Imran Khan are continuing their long march toward Islamabad, with the PTI convoy led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi moving through the Peshawar region.
The protesters are demanding Imran Khan’s release from prison. PTI plans to gather its convoys at Khairabad on October 8, where the party leadership is expected to announce the next phase of the march.

I’ve been instructed to call on the public not to attempt to march or protest nearby Adiala jail on 27 March. I’ve heard from sources that this may be used as an excuse for the establishment to launch a “counter” assault on the jail (Which my father is being held in), which could endanger his life. Please do not give them any reasons for “accidents” to happen to my father during the protest.
@KhawajaMAsif You’re a disgrace of a human being using ChatGPT to define what Judaism says about matrilineal descent. No context, no logic - just copy and paste. Sick minded individuals like you have destroyed Pakistan
@BorisJohnson@iam_tanzil Finally @BorisJohnson you’ve come to life! And you’re doing what one would expect from someone who wears their heart on their sleeve!
Cricket legend Imran Khan is rotting to death in a tiny jail cell in Pakistan. It's time Britain used its influence to help free him

Very powerful and much needed intervention from former Prime Minister @BorisJohnson calling on Pakistan to free @ImranKhanPTI
“What the Pakistani generals fear is that if they let him out, his millions of fans in Pakistan will simply bear him aloft to a tumultuous victory in the next available election. That is why they are treating him with such cruelty – refusing even to allow his two sons, Sulaiman and Kasim, to have visas to visit him in jail.”

This is quite a statement from The Times on Imran Khan..
“The conduct by Pakistan in this matter is indefensible. Mr Khan is clearly the subject of extreme political persecution, now threatening his life. The British government must protest in the strongest terms.”
It’s a genuinely heartbreaking story to read detailing some of the appalling conditions he is ‘living’ in.
When even The Times is putting it this bluntly this is impossible to ignore. Shout it louder for the people at the back!

Theres an extraordinary amount of anger and anguish among the Pakistani public at having a ruling elite imposed upon them that is widely known, indeed infamous for its reputation for corruption. That anger is especially acute at a time when ordinary people are struggling with inflation, shrinking incomes and increasingly strained resources.
“Nasser Hussain and I were among 21 former captains who sent a second letter, a humanitarian appeal for Imran Khan to get the requisite level of treatment.
But I suppose the basic theme was the way the state has tried to airbrush Imran almost out of existence, which is increasingly difficult to do in a social media age”
