The day before Lent is a day of preparation and reflection. It is traditionally observed as a time for confessing sins and seeking forgiveness, it invites us to examine our hearts and prepare for spiritual renewal.

Traditionally, Christians would use up rich foods like eggs, butter, and sugar before the fasting and penitence of Lent. Today, in many parts of the world, the day is known by different names including Shrove Tuesday, Mardi Gras or Pancake Day.

Bible Verse:
"Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts." (Psalm 139:23-24)

Prayer:
Gracious God, as we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your mercy and guidance. Cleanse us of our transgressions and renew our spirits as we prepare to enter the season of Lent. May our confession and repentance open the door to Your abundant grace and lead us to a deeper commitment to live in Your light. Amen.
