@ZooL_Smith @Respawn Respawn made apex to sell skins. Their poorly maintained fork of the source engine was never meant for the size/scale of apex. They would have to revamp the engine, and they don't have the staff and won't invest the money necessary. As long as the shop runs, they're happy

@gabefollower in my brain I'm thinking each player in a server has a queue dedicated to them for their actions, server uses timestamps corrected for latency to diff player actions and see "which happened first" I just can't imagine a way to do that without batching and delaying responses back

@gabefollower sounds like a "queue of actions", player moves send an action to server queue, server sends result of that action to all clients, which then display that game state; while ticks are fixed interval updates sending even if no one does anything. Would save server compute/data cost
