We're looking for session proposals for @goldschmidt2024 Chicago! On "Theme 08: Earth's Active Surface: From #Weathering To #Climate Impacts" - please RT

Life - climate - tectonics <=> biogeochemical cycles
Please get in touch if you want to discuss ideas!
Please RT! Great PDRA #job opportunity here @OxUniEarthSci:
Postdoctoral Research Assistant in #security of alkalinity release from #Enhanced Rock #Weathering

up to 2 years. Part of a large UKRI @NERCscience funded project. Apply by 15th September
Check out our latest paper in ES&T. We take a granular approach to quantify the secondary processes that impact carbon removal downstream of an enhanced rock weathering site. Measuring cation loss from feedstocks on the field isn't enough!

Things began to look very unusual two months ago.
Today the charts need no commentary, they speak for themselves.
This is the Atlantic.

A new EU project has launched to evaluate mechanisms for using the ocean to remove atmospheric CO2. 🫧
NOC is the scientific and technical lead on the four-year interdisciplinary Horizon Europe (EU) funded project.

We welcome submissions to the research topic: "Quantifying Carbon Removal by Negative Emissions Technologies" on @Frontiers in Climate,
edited by @cjanuarioTo, @ConnorTurvey, @IngridSmet_geo, Melissa Cook, James Campbell, @GeoloJess_ , and myself.

This was fun to write: how silicate #weathering helps stabilize Earth's #climate over millions of years, following @BrantleyPSU new paper, showing how #rainfall and #erosion set its temperature response.
+ remember that the #organic carbon cycle is fighting at the controls!
Great day re-installing the lysimeters at our UK @lc3m_cdr field site with @cslarkin1 & Feifei Deng - the flints made augering hard work, but also a good way to burn off the Easter chocolate 😄
Last day to submit your abstract to @goldschmidt2023 ! Interested in what links weathering, carbon and time? Please consider submitting to session 9g. We are pleased to announce our keynote speaker for the session is Dr Mathieu Dellinger
Less than 1 week left to submit an abstract to our session at @goldschmidt2023 ! Our session is wide ranging and we welcome submissions from all aspects of carbon dioxide removal research.
Only one week left to submit your abstracts for @goldschmidt2023! If you’re interested in sharing your research in carbon capture, utilisation, and storage, make sure you submit an abstract by next Wednesday March 1st at 23:59 CET! We look forward to a great week of science!
The next Earth and Ocean Science Seminar at
@OceanEarthUoS and @NOCnews is Friday 2nd at 1pm. Our next speaker is the amazing Dr Erin Saupe (@ErinSaupe). Erin will discuss the emergence of latitudinal diversity gradients in the marine realm. Don't miss this one!
How was the ocean connection between the Arctic Ocean and the Nordic Seas in the LGM? Sluggish or strong? How did it develop during the deglacial? Read the latest results from our group led by Christina Larkin (Cambridge): https://t.co/o2SSZhBwmB
Article: Deep water formation in the Nordic Seas that helps to drive the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation was vigorous during the last glacial maximum, much like it is today, and declined during deglaciation

Really excited to announce our new paper just out in Nature Geoscience⬇️A huge amount of work went into this during my PhD to produce high resolution neodymium isotopes. This allowed us to map out Nordic Sea deep water formation since the last glacial!
