@Madcows491@ronrule I’m not opposed to charter schools if they are examined, audited and held to the same standards and public schools. In my state (IN) many charter schools in ooorer areas test worse or the same as public schools. And there were some scams and schools that dissolved
@mwstateofmind@ronrule Agree with banning unions but I would say let anyone with a BS degree teach after passing a rigorous test. Eliminate most all administrative people too. And look into bloated principal pay!
@JerryBl24848861@ronrule Yeah - let’s now do a thread on teachers unions! One of the biggest scams the public has to endure. That and government workers unions. I’m not a big fan of private sector unions either but I can choose not to buy a Ford!
Public school schedules were built for a stay-at-home-parent economy that hasn’t existed in 50 years. Expecting 9-5 workers to magically manage 9:40 start times and random 2 PM early releases without losing their jobs is a logistical joke.
🚨 Wow. Taxpayer-funded Indiana University just disclosed it’s hiring a foreigner on a H-1B visa to work remotely as a “systems programmer.”
The same university has thousands of computer science graduates and many are still looking for jobs.
End the H-1B scam and hire Americans
@dandinohill And that includes your beloved GOP members of congress and your GOP president! He increased the debt did more than others! Last balanced budget was a Democrat, Clinton!
Why is Fox news allowed to spew lies and disinformation all day long but Jimmy Kimmel can not have an honest interview with James Talarico? We need to fix this country. Please check your voter status and get out and vote - in person if possible.
Yale University has found that the Medicare for all system would save at least 114,000 lives and reduce U.S healthcare costs by 1 trillion dollars a year annually.
Seriously. I'm begging here. Can someone please explain to me the morality behind demanding that a middle-class family that doesn't qualify for this subsidy and which has two parents working to make ends meet because 30% of their paychecks go to taxes should bear the financial responsibility of another family whose mom now gets to stay home with HER kiddos because she's getting a government check to do so?
I want ALL MOMS to be able to stay home if they want to. But if we're saying we want to support SAHMs, that support must be available to everyone, which we simply cannot afford. Otherwise, we're simply demanding some families put their kids in daycare and go to work so that other, poorer families don't have to.
Which is called redistribution of wealth. Which, yes, is socialism.
Republicans are charging 20,000 dollars a ticket for a Billionaire Ball in Dallas next week. Talarico is running a free food drive the same four days. One campaign understands what affordability means to actual Texans.
This Australian's reply to Trump's rant about “NATO not being there for America” is perfect.
"Mate. You run a country with 600,000 homeless people sleeping on the street tonight. A country where 40% of adults can't cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money. A country where insulin costs more than a car payment and people are rationing it to survive. A country where medical debt is the number 1 cause of bankruptcy. A country where women are dying in hospital car parks because doctors are too scared of abortion laws to treat a miscarriage.
You lock up more of your own citizens than any nation on earth. More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea. The land of the free has 2 million people in cages, and a quarter of them haven't even been convicted of anything. They're just too poor to make bail.
Your life expectancy is going backwards. You're the only developed nation where that's happening. Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba's. Your kids do active shooter drills between maths and English while you sell the gunmaker's stock to your mates.
Your minimum wage hasn't moved in 15 years. You've got teachers working 2 jobs and veterans sleeping under bridges and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that didn't attack you.
And you’ve got a convicted felon, adjudicating raping, paedophile protecting, porn star shagging insurrectionist running the biggest dumpster fire war campaign since the Taliban thanked you very much for losing again.
And you're calling Greenland poorly run?
Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. Nobody goes bankrupt there because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because their insurance said no.
'NATO wasn't there when we needed them." When exactly was that, champ? September 11? Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU. Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU. Australia wasn't even in NATO and we still showed up. For 20 years.
And you pulled out at 2am without telling anyone and left them to deal with the mess.
So maybe before you start calling other countries poorly run, have a look at your own backyard, you spray-tanned aluminium siding salesman. The only thing poorly run in this picture is your f----- mouth."
Nursing homes cost $8,000/month, pay staff $15/hour, and still provide terrible care. The math doesn't add up. The money isn't going to care, it's going to shareholders. Elder care became an investment portfolio with a mortality rate.
