“Gold has worked down from Alexander's time... When something holds good for two thousand years I do not believe it can be so because of prejudice or mistaken theory.”
When will we be able to say that about Bitcoin?
Why $XRP narrative is stronger than critics realize:
1) in Japan and Nordic countries, no one has seen inflation in 25+ years
2) trust in govt and large companies is high
3) crypto is viewed as fintech rather than political
4) old alts are Lindy
5) disruption vs revolution

Had a short debate on crypto twitter about realities of a Bitcoin hashpower "death spiral" and what assumptions go into dismissing it as a risk. The TDLR: holders of BTC or equity in key service providers probably have incentive to mine uneconomically to prevent it.
@econoar My biggest concern with PoS is the assumption that people won’t attack tha network for fear of losing their stake. I’m unsure if that reasoning would work for a government. But I’m still trying to learn.
@el33th4xor@twobitidiot Agree. But do you have a provably secure alternative? Wastefulness won’t be enough of an argument for PoS to win. PoW also getting increasingly more energy efficient. I reccomend @CoinSharesCo report https://t.co/J7x1vSpvHw
