Actual advice from friends we received as we prepped to get our kid to the ER: prep for at least a 10 hour wait. Bring food. I'd add: prepare to get radicalized as you watch a kid in a wheelchair weeping as she's told she won't see a dr for another 4 hrs. She's been here for 10.
