The Central Secretariat Service (CSS) Forum has urged the Prime Minister’s Office to speed up the long-pending 4th Cadre Review of the service.
The Forum said the delay has been going on for several years. The review, which was due earlier, is yet to be finalised despite repeated requests.
According to the Forum, timely cadre review is important for proper manpower planning and smooth functioning of government departments. It also helps ensure fair promotions and career growth for officers.
The CSS is a key service that supports the day-to-day work of ministries and departments.
The Forum has stressed that early finalisation of the review will improve efficiency and boost morale among thousands of officers working in the system.
