@BenSchmisseur @FjeldstedWesley @shegone03 I agree lol that’s like 2001 when Ichiro won the mvp over Giambi. Never shoulda happened. 200 hits and didn’t even score more runs or rbis than Giambi. Jeff McNeil probably doesn’t do anymore scoring wise than Olson. If you look at stats with Runners on base you’ll want Olson.
@JeffPassan If you’ve watched the entirety of the season for dodgers and braves you’d understand why more people are pushing for Matt Olson.
All these writers with these random cherry picked stats lol
I love how WAR is explained btw lmfaooooo
“ there is no one way to determine war”
@GrevenChris@daltine_cracker What? It literally doesn’t. Very minimally at best has it ever produced RBI opportunities… but how does someone stealing a base make another play hit a home run?
@nuftjedi@liban_sal @BFOA17 @MLBNetwork I’ve watched nearly every game since June 1st. Olson has come up bigger, in more crucial situations, than acuna has. I will say acuna has been consistent and talented as advertised…. But I still think from the eye test Olson is the more clutch player.
@PiratesAreBad We’re just now seeing Olson in a good situation and settling into it. In 2021 Olson literally lead the A’s in everything. All teams had to do was pitch around him. This is the same lineup that had Chapman bat .210, Murphy .216, and the rest of the lineup wasn’t much better.
@PiratesAreBad Pete has never topped Olson’s highest WAR, even in his best year. In an era where that’s all ppl care about. I’ll still take Olson.
Pete has had good players around him offensively since he came in. He’s been more protected in that lineup.
@CoreyWilsonDFS@CodifyBaseball Honestly Ichiro didn’t seem to do as much in comparison to what Giambi did for his team. It’s not even comparable . Ichiro had some superstars in the lineup with him. Lower OBP despite the average. Lower runs and almost everything else. Giambi had a monster season.
