All of CrowdStrike continues to work closely with impacted customers and partners to ensure that all systems are restored.
I’m sharing the letter I sent to CrowdStrike’s customers and partners. As this incident is resolved, you have my commitment to provide full transparency on how this occurred and the steps we’re taking to prevent anything like this from happening again.
We are working on a technical update and root cause analysis that we will share with everyone as well.

Quick rewrite:
I’m the CEO of CrowdStrike. I’m devastated to see the scale of today’s outage and will be personally working on it together with our team until it’s fully fixed for every single user.
But I wanted to take a moment to come here and tell you that I am sorry. People around the world rely on us, and incidents like this can’t happen. This came from an error that ultimately is my responsibility.
Here’s what we know: [brief synopsis of what went wrong and how it wasn’t a cyberattack etc.]
Our entire team will be working all day, all night, all weekend, and however long it takes to resolve this and make sure it doesn’t happen again.
We’ll be sharing updates as often as possible, which you can find here [link].
If you need to contact us, the quickest way is to go here [link].
We’re responding as quickly as possible. Thank you to everyone who has alerted us to the outage, and again, please accept my deepest apologies. More to come soon.
This reminds me of the time back at the start of my it career I deployed windows updates to the entire company in one go, and then spent a full day / evening trying to stop them rebooting as I ran round fixing them all!
Something super weird happening right now: just been called by several totally different media outlets in the last few minutes, all with Windows machines suddenly BSoD’ing (Blue Screen of Death). Anyone else seen this? Seems to be entering recovery mode:

@ShamblerSynth Turns out I didn’t need one for some reason?
Anyway, forgot how awful Windows XP is, and turns out performance running 32 bit x86 emulation is not great!
@nastywomanatlaw I think the most annoying implementation of this is @getclockwise, who have now disabled their non AI scheduler and force you to use the new one despite it being in beta. If your org doesn’t permit the AI one it just doesn’t work anymore!
@GorillaTagVR@Makeship My daughter has been waiting so patiently for her in game plushy, got the email last night and it says she has to wait 1-3 weeks after 19th March to get her code!
Is there any chance you can send them out sooner? She was given the impression she’d get it today
